Something nice to say about liberals… in Canada.

Anybody who blindly follows any party line faithfully is a fool.
While I tend to be "republican", I can point out one recent major departure from being conservative.In Canada, they suffered through 9 years of the extremely corrupt, annoying, conservative Stephen Harper.
I am aware that people complain that liberal Justin Trudeau has done nothing but work for legalizing recreational marijuana and hinted at legalizing heroin as well. Justin can do anything he wants, or not do anything at all.. and he is STILL a massive improvement over conservative Stephen Harper.In fact, there is something ironic about Stephen Harper being deposed as the prime minister of Canada. If Harper had won, the backlash to having that conservative piece of garbage in power probably would have resulted in Slippery Hillary winning the U.S. election. Instead, Canada got sexy, smiling Justin Trudeau who hasn't really done anything good and not lived up to expectations, but hasn't done anything terribly bad either. For those who don't know about how sleazy and corrupt the previous PM Harper was.. just months before the Canadian election, Harper passed legislation giving away a ton of money in monthly payments to families to buy their votes. There is no way in the world that Harper would have done that other than the fact that the election was approaching and he wanted votes. There is a chance that Harper may still wind up in jail about something I won't even get into here.
Interesting footnote.. the 3rd party candidate in the Canadian election was Thomas Mulcair of the New Democratic Party. He was a Canadian version of Bernie Sanders. It would have been interesting to see what Mulcair would have done. Mulcair would have won, but took a dive in popularity when he went overboard defending the rights of Muslims. Canada LIKES muslims.. but they don't LOVE them.

We needed a break from Harper but Trudeau is awful.
I think most people are very disappointed w/ his performance, he's getting us into so much debt it's not even funny. Broke so many campaign promises. His party is creating new taxes and lying to the public about the reasoning and effectiveness of these taxes. Economic growth has been slow, cost of living keeps rising and the country has been suffering with systemic underemployment for a long time w/ no signs of ever ending. All while taking from the poor and lining up the pockets of his corporate friends. So much for a candidate who was supposed to be for the middle class.
What drives me crazy is that Liberals tend to refuse to answer questions presented by the opposition parties (both right and left wing) on question period. Instead, they just state some pre-scripted message that has nothing to do with the original question. No respect for democracy whatsoever. Trudeau's cabinet is a disaster, also. They were selected based on minority check boxes as opposed to competence, so lots of people are moving around.

Let's be clear here… I have nothing good to say about our Liberal government. In fact, I have lots of nasty things to say about them...
For example, when Kathleen Wynne (the Ontario Premier) stepped in, the cost of a license plate renewal was $63/year. Since she's stepped into power, I'm now about to have to pay a whopping $120 to renew my license plates. To make matters worse, when Kathleen Wynne first came to power, I was paying an average of $75 every 2 months including taxes and delivery for my hydro (electricity) service. Of this rate, only about 20% of it was delivery fees. I have since upgraded all my lighting to LED, and made a number of energy efficient changes designed to reduce this cost, but it's of no use. Thanks to Kathleen Wynne, I now average about $180 PER MONTH in hydro (electricity) usage, about 65% of which is delivery fees. I almost had to declare bankruptcy this past winter because I have electric heat... Next thing I knew, when the cold weather came, BAM!!! Up went the hydro (electric) bill to an average of $900/month... That's more than most people pay for their bloody mortgage... And this is all thanks to our Liberal government being as corrupt as the day is long.
Also, Kathleen Wynne is also responsible for merging the 5% GST (federal tax) with the 8% PST (provincial tax) to create a 13% HST, which increased the cost of a number of things by 8%, including the price of gas and the labour that you pay your mechanic. To make matters worse, they then introduced the cap and trade, along with a carbon tax. Collectively, between all their fuckery, they raised the price of gasoline (among other things) from the average of $0.890/L ($3.364/gal) up to the whopping $1.219/L ($4.608/gal) that I had to pay yesterday to fill my gas tank. In short, our liberal government is driving us farther and farther into debt, with no regard for anything but their own pocket books... I have NOTHING nice to say about our Liberal government, and even more not nice things to say about our former conservative government.... Just sayin'

I'm sorry about what's happening in Ontario. Part of the blame for the green energy scam is on Gerald Butts who is now Trudeau's top senior advisor.
