There are any number of things that can cause this. The best way to find out exactly what it is and how to work with it is to click on the torrent in uTorrent, then click on the "Trackers" tab to see what the status message shows at. This will give you a better idea of what exactly is going on. If it's a matter of not connecting to the tracker, you can try disabling the SSL tracker by clicking the "Profile΅ tab at the top of the page and changing the SSL option. Please note that this requires either redownloading the .torrent file, or manually changing the beginning of the tracker URL to one of the following beginnings:

        SSL Tracker
        https://tracker.gaytorrent.ru/

        Normal Tracker
        http://tracker.gaytorrent.tw:2710/

Changing .ru to tw:2710 …worked for me... weird

The most common cause of this is that your ISP's DNS servers are not resolving the IP address for the tracker for some reason. This seems to be a common problem. There are 2 ways that you can fix this:

            1. Change your computer or network's DNS settings to use Google DNS by using 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as the DNS servers.

            2. Modify your computer's hosts file by adding two lines. If you're unsure of how to change your hosts file, I would encourage you to check out this comprehensive guide. The two lines you want to add should read as follows:

            77.247.179.58 tracker.gaytorrent.ru
            77.247.179.58 tracker.gaytorrent.tw

Once these lines are added, you should be able to resolve the tracker's IP, without the need for a DNS lookup. This method will work, regardless of what DNS servers you're using.
