Is Being Gay a Choice?
-
- This is a video from famous spiritual teacher "Teal Swan" - for all open-minded people out there.
- I'm posting this for everyone who's confused about "is being gay right or wrong", "have we chosen to be gay before coming to planet Earth", etc… so you can try hearing her opinion and see what you think about it:

No, it isn't a choice. In most cases it depends on genetics. There's probably nothing you or your parents/friends/etc can do about that. The only thing to do is admitting yourself and not feeling bothered about sexuality.
-
I would have never chosen this lifestyle. I am what I am and proud of who and what I am.

If its a choice it means one can ultra switch to been straight. CAN YOU?
-
It can only be a "choice" if you already have that tendency.
I don't remember who it was, but a female celeb said she chose to be gay. If you really listen to her, what she was actually saying is that she had feelings for women and CHOSE to allow herself to be a lesbian than fight it.
Believers claim that we "choose" to be non-hetero because we hate god.
-
Ask straight folks "at what point in you life did you choose to be straight"?
In my opinion, sexual preference is about what a person likes. -

Uh, sorry, Cumsucking, was left VERY unimpressed by Teal Swan, complete with her "Premium" content and such.
"Famous spiritual teacher?" How about "For-profit New Age huckster?".
-
"New Age Huckster" is redundant.
My take - we don't have a choice on our sexual orientation; we do have a choice on our cultural expression. Since we can't seem to agree on whether 'gay' is 'able to have an erection with another man' or 'being honest about loving other men' it's a meaningless arguement.
-
There is a lot of confusion about this question because people confuse two distinct dimensions of the word "gay".
1. innate sexual orientation.
2. identity.Being primarily sexually attracted to other men is innate, can't be changed and is not a choice.
Identifying personally and socially as gay, is a choice.
We usually call 2 "coming out" or "realising that I am gay" but (believe it or not) some people confuse that with 1 and think we are deciding to be gay.

Homosexuality has been documented in practically ever species of animal on the planet. From fishes to humans and everything in between.
Not just homosexual behavior's like two male dogs fucking. Thats just natural for all animals but when a male dog has no desire to fuck a female dog thats in heat and wants to fuck a male dog that gets excited. Thats pure 100% homosexuality.
It appears more in larger animal populations than it does in smaller and shrinking populations of animals. The larger the population of animals gets, the higher the percentage of that population is born gay. Researchers have called it mother natures own form of birth control.
Is there a gay gene? Not too sure on that, researchers havent been able to find one, but they have found a series of genes that can be manipulted to creat a gay offspring. For years breders kept manipulating the DNA of different cattle breeds to make super animals. selling the modified dna sperm to ranchs and breeders all over the world. But there was just one very big problem for the labs. A extrodinarly large number of the animals born from the manipulated DNA were homosexual. Not good since you just paid 100,000 dollars for a vial of sperm and wanted to breed a super bull to make your heard shine and all he wants to do is dominate and fuck all the other bulls in the herd.
As the research went on, they found that even just a simple change , such as changing an animals eye color could produce the gay effect. It was backed up by manipulation experiments on all kinds of species from dragonflies to apes. So, is it a choice?
It can be in some people. But in most, science is pointing to NO . Its not a choice. -
The ACT of being gay (or straight) is a choice. I can choose to be intimate with a women, but that doesn't truly make me straight. Likewise, a straight guy could choose to have sex with another guy, but it doesn't necessarily mean he's gay.
A lot of people think it's a choice because they are equating "being gay" to having sex and/or seeking romantic relationships with someone else of the same sex. In most cases, actions ARE choices… so people who think one-dimensional and only believe being gay is strictly an act (having sex) will certainly think that it's a choice to be gay. That's where the confusion comes in to play.
However, the mere presence of having same-sex or opposite-sex sexual attraction is NOT a choice. I am strongly attracted to the male physique and get aroused by their bodies, but I didn't choose that. Straight men are attracted to women's bodies (boobs, vaginas, their curves, etc.), and they certainly didn't "choose" that attraction. Neither of those are choices.
So, depending on how you define being gay or straight, it could be choice and it could not be a choice.

I'd argue no.. but I don't have any proof on me. It's an interesting oen though.

People should be able to choose to be gay as well because sex is healthy and normal!

Definitely straight guys should feel OK about choosing to have sex with other men and maybe even having more sex with other men than they do with women, but that is not the same thing as "choosing to be gay".
-
No, I do not think it's a choice or a "lifestyle".
-
lmao noooo. I gotta say i was born gay af.
-
Well…. I guess lots of the men in gay porn are sorta gay by choice. Depending on what you mean by choice. I mean im sure lots of them feel exclusively attracted to women, and would chose to only have sex with women if it weren't for the money/fame.
