RSS broken? "The markup following the root element must be well formed."
-
My RSS feeds stopped working yesterday (Vuze).
The error given is: The markup in the document following the root element must be well formed.
When I pull an RSS feed in the browser I don't see any markup so I am wondering if something regressed in the RSS feature?
-
Same here. Yes it looks broken. Yes it started in the last couple of days.
NewsReader is RSSOwl.–- Feedvalidator.org (www.feedvalidator.org) is reporting malformed Feed, specifically as follows: (my passkey removed)
Sorry
This feed does not validate.
line 2, column 0: Undefined root element: head [help]
<rss version="2.0">line 2, column 7: XML parsing error: <unknown>:2:7: junk after document element [help]

In addition, interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendation.
Feeds should not be served with the "text/html" media type [help]

Hey guys, my RSS feeds stopped working too. Was there any change? I can't even find any link to the RSS feeds anymore on the site, so I imagine this is not your number 1 feature, but it'd be really great if they can remain functional… it's essential for me, at least. Thanks!

could you please retry?

Fixed! Thank you Joker.

Vuze… There's half the problem
-
Still doesn't really work on my feed reader.
Also, where can I generate feed links? I can't seem to find that page…
-
On the search page (search tab across the top of site page which takes one to /browse.php) there is a link called "RSS-Feed" all the way to the right of "Show All… Show Freeleech torrents" etc.
Not sure if this is gated by being power user or other criteria.

The dowload link from the RSS feed also no longer works.
It has a different URL pattern and it returns a 404 error. -
My feed reader is happy with the GT feeds again, so I'm happy too :crazy2:
-
Any hope for this problem?
Vuze reader still has the last reported error: "line 18, column 99, the reference to entity "n" must end with a ';' delimiter.

mtis it possible to copy/paste the first 20 lines from this bogus rss feed?

A excellent question and request. Given that the feed operates under tls and I have avoided getting the sources to fuss with this sort of thing… I am not able to do this quickly. In some circumstances I think tools like wireshark can hook the http stack and get traces of encrypted streams. So I will try that at some point.
In favor of GTRU, the following site lists some warnings but adjudicates the feed as compliant: https://validator.w3.org/feed/
None of the warnings match the complaints I get from Vuze.
I cannot explain why it was working and now it is not but if/when I get around to getting a trace and/or getting the sources I'll let you know what I find.

Is auth being (newly) required on the rss feeds (url) that include the passkey?
Given that gtru returns 404 instead of 401 when auth is need… and I'm seeing 404's when I try to get Vuze to manually dl a torrent I'm wondering if the auth 404 page is being triggered (redirect)...
mt
-
The "feed=dl" version of the url is triggering the error. This corresponds to "feed type: download link, Login type: Alternative"
They have the form: https://www.gaytorrent.ru/rss.php?num=99999&feed=dl&cat=40&passkey=xxxyyyzzz
Have the RSS page construct one with those options… click on the "Or just click here to follow the Link" and you will see the error in your browser (IE here).
It appears this form is what I have been using... and the error breaks them all.

It might be worth confirming (extra credit?) that the auth mechanism is still working for the GET calls on the torrents… passkey in the referrer?
Or maybe it'll all start working when the feed=dl path is realigned.
Thank you!
