Anyone want to help translate Visual Novel Games
-
Hi, I was recently going through some of the visual novel games that I wanted to play, but as most people know, the majority of them are not available in English.
Well I began figuring out how people translate the games, and am about to test my first English patch that I created, and if it works, I would love to have people who have some extra time help me translate.
YOU DON'T NECESSARILY HAVE TO KNOW JAPANESE. I run the games files through google translate and it spits out a really rough translation of the text. If someone who knows English went through and just retyped the translated dialogue it would be enough.
If anyone is interested just reply to this thread and we can talk! -
Google translation is a 50/50. so hard to get the exact meaning

I'm already translating Hunks Workshop :v

So I forgot to mention this in the first post, but the other thing about using google translate is that you have to individually go back and change only the lines that are displayed to the end user, leaving the code alone. At least that is what I am doing at the moment with Mansion de M. I am going to mess around with modifying the entire game code to fit a auto translated document.
And yeah, google translate isnt great, but an intelligent person can figure out what the output means 75-80 percent of the time. And seeing as I dont have any other real option thats what Ive been doing xD.
But either way if anyone wants to help…
