How do I upload faster?
-
my download is quite fast…but upload is far cry slow….how can i solve the problem?
-
Short answer is that that is just how the internet currently works. The speed you pay for from your internet company is the download speed. The upload speed you get is way lower. There are other factors, such as other devices using the internet within your house, other things your seeding device is doing, and your connection method.
To speed things up, first make sure that your torrent program isnt set to limit upload speeds. Some applications will do that by default, and you just have to remove that limit. Also, dont use a wireless device to seed if possible, hard wired computers seed faster generally.

I have the same problem…
someone?

It may not be a 'problem' - it may just be that is the speed your ISP allows.
My ISP keeps increasing the download speed so that I could get 152Mb/s (if I pay)
The upload speed has remained at 5Mb/s for years.
Test your connection at www.speedtest.net to see what you could get - only click on the 'Begin Test' button on the laptop picture.

I don't download that much, but my issue is always that there's no one really looking for seeders for the files I DO download. :-[

Do you have "Ignore Unencrypted Peers" checked in your torrent client? (I know this is an option in Transmission). If you're blocking unencrypted peers (which is a good privacy feature!), or behind a firewall, I believe you'll receive less connections, which can affect your uploading.

To what extent you guys are talking about, I don't know. As someone who has downloaded a lot of stuff from various sites, I usually do not have an issue with my upload or download. I just joined here a few days ago, and seem to have just okay download, and almost dreadful upload. No clue why.
There are some mechanics, where if you have seeders with more bandwidth capabilities, they are almost always going to get the upload over the guy with a lesser connection. I guess that's just how the system works.
Makes me feel that one some sites the ratio system is flawed. Someone can always have their client going, but still have a low ratio.

If with "… various sites ..." the torrents use public trackers or DHT, uploading data will be easy, because many peers will stop as soon as they got the files (no ratio, no Hit&Run rules). then those keeping on, will face a lot of demand.
"There are some mechanics, where if you have seeders with more bandwidth capabilities, they are almost always going to get the upload over the guy with a lesser connection." Yes, that is the way the bit torrent protocol works.
"Makes me feel that one some sites the ratio system is flawed. Someone can always have their client going, but still have a low ratio."
Here it is important that your torrent client is connectible, because if not, downloading peers will download from those seeding which are connectible. Then a "flaw" can be that members with high ratio and buffer don't download to even further increase their share ratio, not getting that a high ratio isn't a good purpose on its own. Looking to your completed downloads, the issue is that there are no downloading peers ...
However, there are some which haven't got any seeding peer. (Re)Seeding those would give you good chance to do get upload once a member actually starts downloading one. Currently these won't appear with the standard search option to show only 'active'.

I've done this for over ten years now. There definitely is a trade off, as well as a bit of logistics when downloading. For example, I guess you shouldn't download big old files if you do not have a solid ratio. You will almost never get a high upload return.
Over the week my speed has been a bit better. I guess I was just overly concerned.
If a tracker is secure, I have no issue keeping my client open for seeding. The other gay site I am on I think I have a 32.0 ratio.

nobody is downloading the porns I'm seeding,,,
i can never get any uploads….~~ -
hean, if you can, just leave your downloads seeding. It often happens that one of my old downloads suddenly bursts into activity ages after it finishes.
