Seed bonus not working?
-
If I understand correctly:
You receive for every hour the system is registering you as a seeder 0.5 points.
means that my Bonus should increase by .5 for every hour that I have a GayTorrent.ru torrent available for seeding?
I always have Deluge running in the toolbar, but recently the only changes to my bonus seem to have come from forum posts I have made.
Am I doing something wrong?
-
I got the bonus for making this thread.
I'll leave Deluge running for the rest of the day to see if it changes…
-
It says that my currently seeding torrents are:
SordidAuditions - Toby
CockyBoys - Connor Maguire & Jake Bass
YouLoveJack - Shawn BeliveauWhich I just added because I seen that they only had one other seeder - So that kinda explains why I wasn't getting any seed bonus points.
However, there are two other torrents in my client called:
Toby
SHBFAnd these torrents boost my Ratio when they seed, but they dont seem to affect my Bonus.

Hi, aaa…
I'm not saying (yet) that this is related... but are you using a VPN for your torrent client to connect to our tracker server?
-
I'm not always on a VPN, but there are times when I will go on to look at a few blocked sites.
I downloaded the Toby and SHBF torrents again in an attempt to update my system and they seem to be recognised now - Although it says I'm leeching them.
Is this because I haven't downloaded all of the files? Will I still get points for seeding them?
-
You will get your .5 point an hour for being connected and available to seed.
If you seed to anyone you will get an upload amount added to your ratio.
If you didn't download the entire torrent (and why should you) you will always be a leecher for that torrent but you will still be credited with anything you upload.
And I know what you mean about a VPN and blocked sites. I have a free VPN just so that I can check sites that have been blocked by UK courts. In fact one free VPN won't do anything if I have a torrent client open but I can still download the actual torrent files from blocked sites
-
Yup, like cannonmc said, when you skip files in a torrent, they will never report back as "completed" (a standard feature of bittorrents) and thus will always show as "leeching" even when you are uploading data in these torrents… (for which you will earn seeding credit, but I don't think the .5/hour bonus)
regarding the bonus point earning...
I would try keeping your torrent client (offering fully downloaded files) running CONTINUOUSLY for three hours, without using the VPN, and see if you pick up the single bonus point during that time... then later on, try it behind the VPN for three hours... as an experiment
I think you'd need torrents sitting in the "Seeding" list (not the "Leeching" list) to be earning the .5 bonus points per hour...
...and I've suggested 3 hours just to make sure there's no issue with system time overlaps, for lack of a better term...
Please do update this forum topic with the results of the above experiment, should you have to time and opportunity to give it a try...
-
Don't quote me but it was always my impression that if you made anything you have downloaded available to others, it counted as a 'seeding connection'.
I haven't experimented, just assumed. Now Pawpcorn has raised the question it would be nice to know if you had to download the complete torrent before you got the 0.5 point an hour bonus.
Why is life so complicated…

@cannonmc:
The torrent must show in your Profile as "Currently seeding" to get 0.5 points. (Perhaps it is important to note that it is a flat 0.5 points per hour (total), not per hour and per torrent.)The tracker will count as seeding any torrent which your client seeds 100% of the files in the torrent's file list. If you have downloaded all files or had them already and jumped on isn't important, means your client must not necessarily send the 'completed' download signal once to the tracker, but it needs to seed all the torrent's files completely.
-
Oh no, more complications :crazy2:
And yes, perhaps we should have made clear that you just need to be seeding any one completed download to get the 0.5 points each hour. Extra torrents will not get extra points
But you will still get download credit if you seed anything from an incomplete torrent. So all is not wasted by continuing to seed
-
But you will still get
downloadupload credit if you seed anything from an incomplete torrent. So all is not wasted by continuing to seedand that's only if there are actually other members downloading that video… from your computer... :cheesy2:
-
Yes, my mistake, so many things think about, so little brain
I took it as read that people would know there had to be somebody at the other end…
-
I'm starting to think our friend isn't going to be coming back here with the results of the "test bonus points w/o VPN vs behind VPN"…
But I'm guessing his whole issue was (from the start) nothing to do with VPNs, but instead, thinking that only if he ONLY had partial downloads seeding (and NO Completed Downloads seeding) that he'd still be earning the .5 Bonus Points per hour… [which isn't correct].
-
Well, 6 points earned in 18 hours are looking correct, assuming the OP's computer doesn't run 24/7
-
for me it works well

Hi,
I know this question has probably been answered but I can't find it.The .5 seed bonus per hour is for 1 or 20 videos connected?
Has it always been this way?
I thought it used to be .5 seed bonus per hour per seeding.
So the seeding bous a person gets 12 points per day if the connection is 24 hours, no matter if seeding 1 or more videos?
Thanks in adavnce for any help
Rob

It has always been .5 points per hour as long as you are connected, no matter how many you are seeding
