What song are you currently listening to?

I hope that all the ancient Romans reading this enjoy a Splendid and Truly Debauched Saturnalia! (although this piece is perhaps a bit too classical to properly represent the debauchery aspect of the pagan festival on which Christmas is partially based)

@BummerBoy Yes, I took a different meaning from your post, and yes, I thought it odd you (obvious music lover) wouldn't know their history and impact..
But as you do know them, all is well, and meanwhile, Mariah is #1 again with her bippity boppity All I Want. She is followed by Brenda Lee's
Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree -- Ms. Lee turned 78 this month and her rockabilly-infused song has come close, but never topped the chart.

Wow, Flozen! I'm surprised that Mariah is number 1 again (I'm guessing you mean in America). I mean I understand she has many, many fans and I understand that that song is also very popular, but I thought that people would get a tiny bit tired of hearing it so many times even if they absolutely love it. Obviously not! Hopefully Brenda Lee will top the charts before the end of the year!

For all those celebrating Pancha Ganapati, the newest religious festival (if I'm not mistaken) that occurs this time of year:

I hear there are people here who like dandies. I also hear that some of you like dongs. Well, I got you covered! In fact I'll even throw in a ding (whispers: what is a 'ding' anyway?):

There's really only 1 song that I could post on Christmas Day 2022 - Shchedryk (translated in English as Bountiful Evening, but known in English as The Little Swallow and even better known by the version titled Carol of the Bells).
Shchedryk is based on a traditional Ukrainian folk chant. The version of Shechdryk itself most often heard today is based on the arrangement by Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych. American composer Peter J Wilhousky would later write an English version of the song (actually completely different lyrics). It is this latter version that is known as Carol of the Bells.
Not speaking a word of Ukrainian, I can neither confirm nor deny that the following version features the original lyrics, but nevertheless I hope you enjoy it.
I wish everyone on this site a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Fabulous Festivus, a Kind and Kingly Kwanzaa, etc etc! I especially wish Ukrainians, wherever you are currently living all the best and hope that peace returns to the whole of Ukraine soon and you are able to return to a safe, healthy and happy life once more! Let's hope the swallow's bountiful future will come to us all this coming year!
