Do you prefer meeting someone to date online or in everyday life (work, bar)?
-
I'm kinda old-school with meeting people to date in my everyday life verses online. My experiences weren't the greatest, but it seems everyone is dating online. What's you guys experiences?
-
Anybody? This is slightly different than my other topic because the focus is on "dating" rather than hooking up.
-
I definitely prefer apps or websites for dating over than by chance. I'm not a much of a drinker and, with guys, it can be very difficult to know who is bi/gay or not in most circumstances. Online, you can have an introduction to someone regardless of whether or not they are currently online and you do not have beer goggles fooling you.

and you do not have beer goggles fooling you.
Very true… many men have turned into supermodels for a night because of beer and other alcoholic beverages :crazy2:
-
For me, both ways are dangerous :crazy2:
-
LOL.. YES!!!
So what are the apps and websites you guys use?
-
In everyday life you get to know the person. Online you get slapped with the pic of cock in your face and the only conversation seems to be "top or bottom"? Not sexy at all…
-
I prefer in everyday life. Even if something starts out online, if it has any chance of going anywhere, there will be at least one moment of truth involving a face to face meeting. Besides, if we start off in real life, then we likely have some demonstrated common interest already (we're both in the same place for something), whether that is work, a hobby, a sport/activity, or whatever. I spend my time doing the things I like or that I am interested in.
I deal in reality. We're all perfect online! But, that doesn't carry over into real life.
-
Both ways have the pros and cons. Sometimes I go online (Grindr/ Jackd) for a quick hook up since it's easier that way or just for someone to chat with, makes me feel less lonely or bored. Other times when I occasionally go out, I don't mind hitting on the guys I like (there's nothing to lose!!). So I guess, the experience all depends on the guy. You just have to find the "right", compatible one whether on or off-line ;-))
-
Ok, I saw someone on here mention Scruff and I tried it. That shit (from my experience and in my area) is like Grindr and Jack'd. I got off of that app after 2 days. I think I'll stick to real life meetings. Thanks for sharing your experiences and feel free to add more.

I met the man that later became my husband, back in 1992 through a hot-line. We started seeing eatchother for sex and one day it was just us…..as a couple
-
I prefer it in everyday life… but it's so hard to find! It never happens with me :cry2:
-
Where I'm from gay people are persecuted so I have to search online
-
I prefer building friendships/relationships that started from meeting in real life by far(!), though most gay guys I've met and dated were from online, lol.
I try both, and though I'm very used to the latter, the former is like 10x better in my opinion… I'm talking about connecting with others in a place of common ground or interest though -- not just going out in bars or in clubs, which is not really my scene.
-
I prefer to meet person in real life not through internet, it feel me with reality
-
I think that meeting someone in everyday life is better, but I'm old school
-
I cannot meet people in my everyday life so I have to stick to the internet

With my kind of work, I prefer in everyday life coz of the face to face encounter, 3 of my now closed friends (with benefits) started by meeting them by chance and we started dating everytime I went to their respective town (work related out of town)
