Ratio not showing correct information.

My uploaded credit has been taken away somehow. A month ago i had a ratio of 7.8 - then sometime two weeks ago it went to 5.8 - now in the last twenty four hours i have had another few gigs stolen. and went from 5.91 to 5.82. A scam to get you to donate?

Or maybe you have just downloaded more than you have uploaded. That is how the ratio works. No-one steals your gigs.
There is no scam because no-one has to use the site. Also no-one has to donate if they don't want to. There are plenty of ways of using the site for free, keeping the required ratio (that's what you agree to when you use the site) and still being able to download.

Your ratio is 0.582 not 5.82 ― which likely means it went from 0.592 to 0.582 in twenty-four hours, or about 250MB an hour.
