Asking For Seed Bonus Gifts
-
Okay, I have a generous amount of seedbonuse, methinks, but am not sure how it affects me.
Does it help me at all when I downloadl a torrent;
(I have yet to upload, since everything I like seems to be on here already :);
If I give 1 or 20 points; how does it affect the rate;
What else do you suggest should I know about seedbonus, and how much to give;
Is there a thread I haven't found that explains all this?Thanks in advance for your help.

SEED BONUS POINTS are awarded at the rate of .5 points per hour of seeding time.
You can use them 3 ways here at GT.ru :
- As a thank you for an upload ~ just use the drop down box on the torrent post
#'s 2 & 3 are accessed by clicking on Bonus at the top of each page.
- To purchase invites to GT.ru ~ 250 pts = 1 invite ~ 400 pts = 2 invites
_Only Power Users can use the invite function and you are given 4 invites
for free.- To purchase Upload Credit :
100 pts = 1 GB
200 pts = 2.5 GB
350 pts = 5 GBDoes it help me at all when I downloadl a torrent;
Downloading has no affect on Seed Bonus Points._

Thanks leatherbear!

I am trying to make an impression that has more force than a "thankyou" I can freely generate at the press of a button. I want the uploader to know that I am giving them something that has actual value in this system. I have noticed that the "power uploaders" have amazing libraries and appear to get satisfaction from providing downloads that are highly prized by someone.
As an uploader, I use the seed bonus information more than the thank you simply because everyone could press the ty button but it "costs" to gift seed bonus; thus the ensuing info is more definitive. What I would like to see is that the seed bonus stats and the downloads completed stats would show on the "My Torrents" lists. The snatch info is listed but does GT.ru really have 68 million users? (My torrent that lists 68 million snatches only has 33 completed downloads, which I don't think is correct either). That same torrent though lists 100 seed bonus points and 28 ty's. This pretty much tells me that most everyone that downloaded it pressed the ty button but some people really enjoyed it as my average seed bonus is probably 15-20.
P.S. For the record, I do not and never have asked or begged for seed bonus.

i think everytime you turn on your torrent program you "snatch" all the torrents that are downloading on your computer. but that's just my theory

I don't know about that but if not then about a third of the planet is interested in checking out Huge Studio–Bare Huge Dicks #4. :cheesy2:

I don't know about other torrent clients, but BitTorrent and uTorrent do save a copy of the .torrent file for every torrent that you've ever imported into them. They can be found in the following directory by default:
Windows XP
BitTorrent: C:\Documents and Settings<username>\Application Data\BitTorrent
uTorrent: C:\Documents and Settings<username>\Application Data\uTorrentWindows Vista/7
BitTorrent: C:\Users<username>\AppData\Roaming\BitTorrent
uTorrent: C:\Users<username>\AppData\Roaming\uTorrentIn order to see the Application Data or AppData folders, you may have to first enable the option to see hidden files and folders, otherwise they may not appear.</username></username></username></username>

I don't know about uTorrent but in BitTorrent, if you tell it to remove and delete the torrent, then it deletes the torrent file from your computer and you would have to re-download the file if you want to seed it again.

uTorrent and BitTorrent are both the same in that regard. The only thing with that is that you must go to "Remove and" then select "delete .torrent" in order to do this. Most users don't bother to do this and will just merely remove the torrent from the list.

Hi all,
Just a couple of uTorrent pics concerning what has been written :MrMazda wrote : uTorrent do save a copy of the .torrent file for every torrent that you've ever imported in the the following directory by default:
C:\Documents and Settings<username>\Application Data\uTorrentI don't find any torrent in this folder…because I changed the default a long time ago
As you will notice in the 1st attached pic ("1 - Data and Torrents location.jpg"), all data (movies) and torrents are immediately stored in a more accessible folder, then dispatched when completed. This folder is like a "to be sorted" folder.
Concerning the torrent deletion, utorrent gives a full control of what you want to delete, as seen in the 2nd attached pic ("2 - Remove - Remove And.jpg")
The right-clic context menu offers all possibilities :
-
Remove = Remove the torrent from utorrent (and do nothing else)
-
Remove And :
2a) Delete .torrent : same as 1) + delete the torrent from disc
2b) Delete .torrent + data : same as 1) + delete the torrent and movie from disc
2c) Delete data : same as 1) + delete the movie from disc
It's simple and efficient, especially it asks you a confirmation after you choose a Delete option.

Here you see our difficulties to give exact guides.
There are usually so many setting possibilities in BitTorrent Client programs that it is nearly impossible to gather all possible variations of your settings and the effects they might have on our guides. Our guides usually use the default settings for clients to explain problems and answer settings. We hope: if you really change default settings of your client (which in the last case are what MrMazda described) you in fact know what you do and are able to combine our guides and your different settings to get the effective answer just for your question.

Hey Mgr is here, it's always a pleasure
Well, as I'm curious, i always experiment the different possibilities offered by a software (Options…) and read (at least partially lol) its help file...which usually brings out new questions ("Super Seeding") or a comparison of utorrent glossary with GT glossary (in Raphjd's thread) etc...Of course, if an option is too complicated to understand, you better leave it unchanged lol
Or note carefully what was its default in case you dare change it -
Thank you blackdid. When I create the guide on this process, I will be sure to include the information that you have presented. This way, I can create a universal guide that has the default settings, as well as what to do in the event that the default settings are changed. This makes things much easier. I didn't even realize you had the ability to change things like that in uTorrent/BitTorrent.

Saw this in a torrent description today: "Please help me with seedbonus, my DL rights are taken. Thanxxx" What offended me the most about it is that he has upload credit of over 400 GB so he should understand the ratio rules. Also, he has been given over 5000 points but has only given out 50 points. He has uploaded nearly 20 torrents so he knows how to increase his ratio and is only 12 GB in the hole. One would only need to upload 4-5 1GB torrents to satisfy "The Rationator".

Amen brother! I have ranted about this here before. http://forum.gaytorrent.ru/index.php?topic=8291.0

I never give SB to anyone who asks for it.

It might be that the member you speak about went a long way to get close to have the download rights back. I guess you can't see when his download rights were disabled ?
Perhaps you could give me by PM a link to that torrent in question?
At least that member DOES upload new own torrents, which makes him positively outstanding from the masses of the members. Not asking for SBP would even be better IMHO.
Note that when I get across SBP requests visible in the listing, I edit the descriptions so they don't appear any more visible in the list, but only in the description.

I agree with that; on the other hand, the fact that he has been a member for nearly 3 years and appears to be experienced with torrents makes him, in my opinion, more responsible for managing his ratio than, let's say, a new member who has never used torrents before.

So, is this considered over the line? :cheesy2:
