Calculator for Power User
-
I have an idea - when looking at your profile, if you have Power User level, it could calculate how many GB you could download before you lose power user ratio (which I understand is 1.05). It already does the math for what you get before exceeding your minimum, I'd love to see a calculation for power user as well. Thanks!

I'm a poweruser and in my profile it says my minimum ratio is 0,5 ::) " (Current
minimum Ratio 0.500 (28 Days gracetime in case of your ratio falls below 0.5) 1.76 TB (The Amount of Bytes you can download before Reaching your current minimum Ratio)" ::) So I assumed that's the minimum ratio for a poweruser Second of all I would not know why a power-users minimum ratio should be higher than a 'normal' user. Does the status of a poweruser not simply imply that: 1. The user has more than fair up- and download-traffic and/or 2. Has donated to keep this website going on a frequent bases … or 3. Does all of the above? ::)**So why would the minimum ratio of a poweruser need to be higher than other users minimum ratio? After all its not the powerusers fault that:
A- Some have a crap shitty postal pigeon-speed internet connections
B- Some are willing to get ALL the porn they can get.. yet NOT share fairly and/or donate once in a while
C- Some are too afraid to use up their PC and have it seed & leech overnight
D- Some are to poor to donate 2, 3 or more times a year…Oh well... That's at least what I think of it. On the other hand I can really not be bothered if they would up the minimum ration for powerusers but if EVERYONE would share fairly.. the status of a poweruser would not even need to exsist.. ;D
Take care all and keep up the good work

Technically, this should have been posted in the "site feature request" thread, located here;

Let me clear up some things here:
The calculations in your profile are about minimum ratio only (watched by Rationator). If you drop below your minimum ratio you get a ratio warning to raise your ratio above the minimum in the given grace period, otherwise your download rights get taken away until you reach your minimum ratio again. Thhis ratio handling is independaet from your user status and is valid for all users. Even an admin could get an automatic ratio warning (and thus a yellow triangle) if he would let drop his ratio below his minimum ratio. (But luckily all of our moderators and admins jnow enough about sharing ).
Power user status: how to become a power user is explained in our FAQ. The expected ratio of > 1.05 is intentionally way above any minimum ratio and is independent from donations (except that you can raise your ratio by a donation). Power users should not need to care about minimum ratio, the highest minimum ratio is currently 0.7 whereas power users need 1.05 to stay power users (with a small leeway before they are demoted to user status again).
A last word about the calculation in your profile: don't try to stay on the minimum boarder of either your minimum ratio or powr user ratio (1.05). If you try to build a better ratio than the minimum you won't get into problemse if those limits change (minum ratio: your download amount get's bigger) or we raise the ratio to become a power user. In an internal staff discussion there are many votes to raise the limit for power users to a higher level (suggestions go - nope I won't tell figures here ) But be assured: we will announce changes on our news- (home-) page before they get active.

Sorry for posting it in the wrong place, and I was not suggesting someone should be trying to be on the minimum. Its just nice to know how ahead you are. And I didn't check the name, but power users don't have different ratios before getting DLs suspended, its the ratio before you lose your status. Anyway, as I said, just an idea. I can do the math myself, but it would be a nice feature.

Dear zbret,
Your feature request has well been noticed by the staff.
mrg's answer was rather meant to clarify minimum ratio requirements for download rights and the ratio requirement for Power User to stay Power User, which was felt necessary seen the 2nd post in this topic and probably is the reason this stayed here and was not moved.
Have a nice day.
Best regards
