| These people are going to be cash-rich 19-year-olds and cash-poor 30-year-olds… If you're making 22 grand a year and not paying for college, you can earn enough disposable income to have an apartment and a car. But it tops out there. Job security is not good, and you end up in the lower middle class and working poor. || Salesperson | Real estate agent | Parasite Singles | McJobs | Two-bob billionaire |

The most stable jobs are in the blue and white collar areas.
Jobs based on luxury (maids, car valets, etc, etc) have the highest job instability.

The term gold-collar worker is coined from spending money on a gold chain and driving an Escalade, whilst spending all of your disposable income, living paycheck appearing cash rich and being asset poor. They don't save for rainy days.

Based on your definition of "gold collar" I'm not sure that real estate agents should fall into that group. I have several relatives who are REAs and they are nothing like that.
Young REAs who don't plan on staying in the job for long but just want to "get rich quick" are gold collar, but those who want to make it a proper career fall into white collar.

I would agree with you. I got this list when I googled blue, white, pink and gold-collar workers. Just because a job may be gold-collar in definition doesn't make the person lazy or con artist. However, by definition, these create cash-rich people, with a low education requirement. That also is not to say that just because you do these jobs that you are not smart.
