I'm talking about the Couch to 5k training program for which there is an app for the iphone and android.  Designed to get people up and ready to do a 5k run.  I did day one today and already love it.  As someone who hasn't exercised nearly as much as I should over the past few years, I can't wait until I'm able to do a 5k!

For those who have done it, my question is this - the program says to take a day off..  If I wanted to do 2 days in a row, should I just complete the last workout again?

Every year or two I wind up doing a charity run and I use c25k, 5k+ or other running podcasts to get cardio and endurance back up, then I stop running again once the event is over >_____<

You should be finishing week 8 by now? or repeating a week somewhere in it if you keep skipping days. Keep at it or get back to it. 2 days inbetween runs is fine, just as long as you have one rest day, the more days off the slower progress is going to be, but if you feel you need an extra rest day then listen to your body and take it.

As a general rule, they advise to take a day off to let the muscles recuperate from the stress of being worked, especially if they have not been worked in a long time. While you could continue to do two days in a row, I would recommend changing up the routine for the 2nd day to help promote proper muscle growth, instead of letting your muscles get used to the workout, since they don't develop well if that happens.
