Why the higher countries are african?
This is pretty interestingprovision of internet services to the African population is behind many in the world, but catching up
and our searches are probably more specific than just 'gay porn'
-
Wow I'm surprise that the highest is actually kenya
-
In related news, India's Government is Asking ISPs to Block Porn. http://www.xbiz.com/news/web/187634 :surprise: :surprise: :surprise:

Wow. That's good to know. ;D

That's most reasonable explanation.
Apart from that, there are so many countries whose citizens do not use English word to search for gay porn. 10 out of 10 on that list uses English as Lingua Franca to a certain extent.

I'm sure i'm doing my fair share of keeping Australia in the top 10 hahaha. Just filled up a 1.5TB drive with gay porn, so had to buy a 2TB one (and also separate out my wrestling videos - have a lot of those!). Lots of African countries in those lists!
-
I might be the only one actually not surprised lol
-
I think it makes sense that people in the more intolerant homophobic countries would be watching more gay porn behind closed doors, whereas in the more liberated countries people free to actually have relationships and sex.
-
We also need to count that the research is based only on Google. Which means that's all specialized gay porn sites aren't counted.
Basically it's like they ask "who search the most for the words gay porn" instead of "who watch the most gay porn" or "who is interested in gay porn the most". In many countries the gay porn googling is over for a decade now. For African countries, that kinda started using internet recently, it's like discovering a whole new world.
If you'd do the same study over "straight porn"/"how to use a computer"/… they would also be in the top 10 ^^
Plus, in the countries that forbid homosexuality it's like a "dark fascination" for them. With everything that you're being told is forbidden comes curiosity. Thanks to the internet we can actually measure it ahah
-
I would still suspect if they changed the search term query to more "modern" terms the result could be about the same. Plus, I'm sure there are young-uns or gay newbs in our countries that have to start off with something like "gay sex pics" or "gay porn," so it could even out that way. A gay newb isn't going to know to search for "Christian Wilde BDSM .torrent" or "breeding compilation", they would most likely start out with "gay porn torrent" or something. As liberated as some of our countries are homosexuality is still taboo in a lot of circles which creates closet cases that wouldn't know all the specific terms either (me being brought up in the church and religion as the preacher's kid, case in point). If we're going to account for the reasons for generic or specific search terms then we should do it both ways.
-
I agree about the search term but the other important fact is Google! In "rich countries" gay newbies will surely use the general search words "gay porn" but not on Google! If you take a look around you now ten years old know about torrent and sites for torrent. Those youngs won't count in the study because they already use a specialized site. :blownose:
And think about our century! Now every kiddo has a smartphone that i'm sure isn't counted in this study. They don't have those kind of phones in South Countries! So they use the old fashioned way : googling on a computer ^^
If the study wouldn't have been only about Google, the results would have been entirely different

yay Canada is in the top 10
-
African countries in the top? surprised….
-
This doesn't really surprise me in the least. The least gay-friendly areas usually have the most closeted gays.
-
proud and happy my country made it top 10…! :cheesy2:

Have they consider the fact that countries have different sizes of population. Would be hard for us in Sweden to compete when we there is the same amount living here that it is in Chicago…
