Warning regarding posting content from Deviantotter.com:
To all the members, it is not allowed to post any content from Deviantotter.com. this is their message:
It has been brought to our attention that videos from one of our websites, deviantotter.com, have been illegally downloaded and subsequently uploaded to torrent sites, and these videos has been traced back to you and your account
This is a violation of the terms of service you agreed to when you signed up for the site and as we take the theft of our intellectual property very seriously we are considering legal action."
-
GTru is NOT giving out any informations about seeding or leeching behaviour and especially doesn't give out the information about any IP regarding any profil. A sentence like "and these videos has been traced back to you and your account" is just pure nonsens and a shoot out of the blue. Even DMCA messages won't be forwarded in a way, that the sender may get to know the initial uploader of a torrent. So IF you ever get such messages through the GTru - domain, you should definetly forward such messages to the helpdesk, so that the sender account gets banned because of fraud.

Can we take legal action against them for violation of English grammar
I wonder just what sort of legal action they think will succeed… ???
-
Their stuffs not worth a torrent anyway.
-
I think what they mean is that they put an invisible watermark on their videos and can trace that back to your account on their site.

There are certainly sites that do this exact thing. The only way to detect such a thing would be to download a second copy of the same video in the same resolution/file size and compare the two files. If they don't place tracking info in the video, then any two downloads from different users would be expected to be identical. If they are not identical, then there is probably a reason, and the file is being modified or customized for each downloader.
The really good watermarking tools will survive a transcode of the video or a resize or whatnot…. basically as long as the quality of the video survives, so will the watermark, at least in theory.
Its probably possible to circumvent such restrictions by downloading from such sites using a :cens:.

I didn't think what I said was a violation of the rules or I obviously wouldn't have said it… Telling someone how to preserve their privacy when joining a web site SHOULD not be a violation of any rule, IMHO.

Now I'm curious about which rule(s) you may have violated and the name of the tool you referred to.
-
I can indicate the rule ignored:
Discussions and requests how to hack or rip a web site; crack or remove copy protections and Digital Restriction Management (DRM) systems; remove invisible watermarks in media files; and requests or offers to share passwords, logins or invitations are prohibited. Do not request or offer to share files obtained by these activities.

Thanks for the heads up! I think Englishlads and Musclematt also do the same. If anybody knows a site who uses that technology, maybe you guys could make a shout out here to warn us.

Although here's an interesting bit about MuscleMatt videos:

I'm glad I happened upon this thread I'm currently working on a nice big torrent, getting all the videos joined and organized, etc….I should try and figure out if they're marked eh? But you know, when something gets taken off the site, others seem to pop back up replacing them from someone else.

This "musclematt" is an :cens: and seems mentally unstable.
I would suggest that people do not give "musclematt" any money or attention.
