Proper label or torrent title description
-
I saw this new upload today. The uploader attempt to evade DMCA claim deletion by deliberately not identifying the upload by title or description. The only clue to the torrent content is in the preview images.
While I can empathise with the "waste of effort" feeling, uploading new torrents just to be deleted a few days later, this is not the solution to the problem. (Look on the bright side, while you may not get as much Seedbonus for the short time period the torrent is alive, you still get the upload credit.)
GT.ru is a giant database. Without identifiable information that's searchable, such torrent will be "lost" once it disappear from the front page. The only way someone will find it is by accident. The second major problem will be an increase of duplicate uploads.
I think it's time the Moderators clarify the permissible limit of this practice.
Perhaps uploaders should be get some kind of bonus for uploading, to counter the shorter live of new torrents? Something like 10 seedbonus per upload?

There was already a topic about this and basically all was said there, unfortunately I can't find it back … :afr:
We got the Upload Rules, clearly saying that information given must be correct and not misleading of what the shred file(s) content is. However that doesn't define a miniimum of information needed. Fantasy torrent titles might qualify as "misleading".
So far we've not implemented any rule (which if ever made would require enforcemnt) gainst character replacement, e.g. H34T instead of Heat etc… in the hope that the uploader will understand that this will make their uploads not searchable and won't help against been observed by copyright owners and their agents; Anything we can identify, they can, too.
Indeed uploading something without having the right, only that it is requested shortly after to be removed, doesn't make sense and is even prohibited by the Terms of Service.
At this moment, we don't like to increase further the set of rules and hope on the ommon sense of our members.

Thanks. No, I had another more recent in mind… but it isn't that important to find the old topic back.
