      Hey guys,

Recently noticed a lot of .flv files coming through and one in particular,

      https://www.gaytorrent.ru/details.php?id=1b56a5a6f8351aa42afabca11573bb0c05d8492660471f0b

It opens in adobe flash. When i open it with vlc player it won't work whereas others will. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Are there other codec bundles i can download for this player?

      Thanks!
      Andrew

On PC VLC plays that file, but it is 5 seconds of video anyway.

Codecs are quite standard MPEG-4 AVC (aka h.264) at quarter PAL resolution and AAC-HE .

I think we should nuke this torrent, totally useless …

There seems to be a full version there > https://www.gaytorrent.ru/details.php?id=8fa134e691f0c6a4ef74da11e3999105bf9663dcb6d6fdcf

I've been using Perian for a long time, and it's still working fine. Perian is a codec pack that adds file support to Quicktime.
          http://www.perian.org/

The download link is after the "A notice to all of our users and supporters", and further down it shows which file types are supported.
If something doesn't work in QuickTime, I try VLC, then Mplayer Extended with the addons if I have to. Usually 1 of those 3 work for me.

I've had the same problem with certain players and mpgs too, and other file types. VLC wouldn't play them, QT, and some others. Usually, with the combo I posted earlier the file will play for me in one of those players or through QT/Perian. Try some of the free SWF/Flash players for Mac too, like SWF & FLV Player.

I'd like to highlight that the movie in question is only of 5 seconds length and not worth the trouble…
