      If you search for:

      fishing trip

      you will get 2 results with the same url and same Id.  this is just one example of multiple duplicates that I have been seeing.  these duplicates also come up when you browse.  I notice a torrent, a few hours later it will be listed again.  Are you guys aware of this?

        Yeah, the same thing happens to me sometimes when I do a search. There would be two identical torrents, one right after the other, with the same everything. Sometimes I've even seen more than two copies of the same torrent in a row, up to around 10 or so! :crazy2:

          @meliliou:

          My search of "fishing trip" revealed 7 torrents of that name, each with a different URL and file size.

          Torrents of the same title that differ in size or format (e.g., avi, mpg, mov, mp4, etc.) are not true duplicates in the formal sense of the word. They are allowable on the site.

            You state that the several entries of 'fishing trip' are not true duplicates.  This is not true and suggest that you simply browsed the search results and nothing further. The 7 gb editions are both duplicates.  As I indicated, they have the same id.  If you look further, you will see that they also have the same hash.  This is what I am talking about.  The web server is listing duplicate entries, either from a true duplicate, or a bug.  I have seen this many times over the past few weeks-many duplicate torrents with the same ID and same hash.  I suggest you look further

              I get exactly the same results as Spintendo, 7 entries, one 7GB file, all different formats and/or sizes. Maybe the duplicate ones have already been removed.

              If you do find a duplicate just report it with the button on the torrent page and earn yourself 50 points if it is a duplicate. I have both posted and reported duplicates - it's easy to do both  😉

                I'm not sure that these duplicates are the result of two separate people submitted, because when I look at them, the text descriptions and files and file hashes are exactly the same.  Two different people submitted a dvdr with the same content are still unlikely to make a torrent with exactly the same hash, unless they happen to have the exact same files with the same order and same block size.  Even then, their text descriptions would likely differ.  This makes me wonder about some bug on the web site reporting duplicate results.

                  But Spintendo and I can't find any exact duplicates. We find 7 entries, all different sizes and different formats.

                  I'd agree that a torrent of exactly the same size, description, etc would likely be a duplicate. We just can't find any for that particular search  ???

                    There is a known glitch: If a member's torrent client sends multiple "have completed" to the tracker, it creates multiple entries of that in the data base, which will display the exact same torrent a many times in the result list with dark greenish background.

                    There happens the same with light green background, but I could not yet test which condition creates that.

                      Ah, I see now.  So that makes the results appear and disappear and explains all the above.  Good, I just wanted to let you guys know in case you didn't already.
