Just started seeding and I think its time for a seedbox. I looked at seedunlimited, but I've seen some complaints about lack of responsiveness. Can anyone recommend a good provider with decent speed packages?

This topic is a follow up to questions via the helpdesk about seedboxes in general and what experiences GayTorrent.ru members who alread use a seedbox have with seedbox providers.

What are the pros and cons of seedboxes? Easy setup? What are the costs? Fast or slow up- and download? Does expensive or cheap make any difference? Is your privacy protected? Security issues, who are the good providers and who are the bad ones etc.

Your reviews, testimonials are more than welcome!

I've used xirvik before (a couple of years back) and didn't have any problems. Just that their setup time takes longer.

There's a couple that I have used in the past but I can't remember anymore since it has been a long time.

However I recall using Xirvik.com. Setup time usually takes longer, I think I waited longer than what is indicated in their site but after that I didn't have any problems. You can also choose from several locations, so choose the one that is most convenient for you. I'm not sure if they still use torrentflux as a client or rutorret.

I have a seedbox at Seedstuff.ca  It costs me $20 a month, for 225 gigs of space. The setup was less complicated than I was expecting. The interface (ruTorrent) mimics my uTorrent, and once I understood this, I had no problem using it immediately.

I think it has many great advantages. I can leave my files there, seeding for a very long time, even if my computer is turned off (which it was this week when I went out of town). My ratios have gone up exponentially. The seedbox has much greater bandwidth than my own ISP, so it is blazing fast. My own IP address isn't ever seen in the mix of downloading and uploading peers, only that of the seedbox itself, so the security is very good. The seedbox software does occasionally crash, and there is a manual "reboot" link from a different website, a godsend when you can't log on. Overall, I'm very pleased with it.

Hi, Im new with seedboxes and I have a question about using it here. I would like to download files from this site straight into my seedbox. This way i can seed and then download the file later. Where can i find the download url link for a certain movie? I know there is a "download" box button above the "thank" button but when i click on "download", it gives me the .torrent file. Do i really have to download it first before uploading it to a seedbox? Seems mundane

Any help would be appreciated. THanks in advance.

I've no personal experience with a seedbox, but:

Seedboxes can download a torrent's files (the data files / movies) when you add the torrent to it's torrent client. While they do that, they already upload back the parts they got to others and generate usually a share ratio above 1 due to their heigh bandwidth. (and make the life for non-seedbox users difficult).

You get a download link for the .torrent file (the torrent) in our torrent list, which unlike the button works without java script.

Some members have automated the downloading of torrents to their seedbox by the RSS feed. A member has made a tutorial in the "Guides" section of our Forum.
