Single File Torrents -vs- Bundles
-
Hey guys. I'm looking to bump my ratio back up a bit, so I'm going to start digging through my dirty library to look for things to contribute. Anticipating having multiple related files to share, I'm curious about how you guys feel about files being uploaded one by one versus grouping them into one larger torrent. Single file torrents are "more bite sized," and I can see how the larger size of bundles may be daunting for some users. But if a person is only interested in downloading a single file they have the option to select which files they download from the bundle, so in this respect they don't seem much different. Is there perhaps something I'm overlooking here? How do you guys feel about this? Also, since I am trying to beef up my ratio, does one method offer an advantage over the other?

Please read the above link, especially #9 about collections.

There should be no "bundles", but collections with a well defined common theme and there should be an indication how complete the collection is, which implies it is delimited.
Then there is a technical drawback with multiple file torrents, common to all tracker I know, when selection only part of the files for download: the tracker will continue to count the peer as leecher once his partial download is finished and he seeds what he got, because he can't be counted as seeder. Seeder can only be peers which got all files. Then the downloading limits can be reached fast, by having multiple of such torrents seeding.

As a PS to Popper's reply:
If someone downloads part of a torrent they can never become a reseeder if needed in the future.
Also not everyone knows they can download parts of a torrent and some will be put off by the size, in my experience
