Problem loading homepage and pages on this site.

Sorry I was unable to use either command line tool as currently only got access to the site on my smartphone. However everything seems to be working fine again this morning.
I hope others are having the same experience and I thank Tom and the staff for whatever they did that appears to have fixed it.
Cheers guys!

UPDATE: Sorry guys I appear to have spoken too soon. Even though I did check several different types of pages and they all loaded either quickly or at least at an acceptable speed before I posted the above message, the problems now seem to have returned. That said, the problem doesn't seem as bad as it was. For example even though I am back to getting "Could not connect to remote server" errors, it takes a lot less time to see this error than it did previously. Whilst this is clearly far from perfect, it does allow one to hit the reload/refresh option much quicker if one is determined to view the page.
For info - the first attempt to submit my edits to this post failed.

What ever who did, solved all the problems ( as far as I can tell ^^ ).
Thank you very much!

I'm really seeing most pages timing out and have for about a week
-
Im having real problems, most pages time out and I am struggling to even post this. I only have a problem with this site.
-
I am having the same problem and it makes the site very difficult to use. Most of the time when I click a link I get page not found error or a time out error. There are no more previews for the torrent when I hover over the titles, just blank white boxes instead. I sure hope they find out whatever the problem is soon.

Any new on this, really struggling to even post this.
-
Sorry guys only a little silly q just in case. Have you tried to shut down the torrent client before posting or opening the site ?
-
My torrent client wasn't even running this morning when I was getting time outs
-
Hmm let's see. Sorry for your mishap iheartporn, crazygk02 and cannie :(.
But on behalf of your testimonies I've tried today the experiment of shutting down the torrent client for 2 hours. I didn't experience particular differences in my personal quick load of both the GTN and GTru sites as a consequence. Every now and then I experience some slow downs as it occasionally happens with a number of other sites in the web I could give the coordinates of if asked for.
I think I should also add that my connection is an el cheapo 7mbit/s Italian one just to be more preciseP.S. Of course when I switch on the torrent client GTru slows down exactly as all the rest ofte web.
Should an IT ignorant mole explain why? ^-^ -
Strugging to post here due to the issue.

Here's a video of the timeouts and site load issues.

I see your problem Iheart but again I'm not experiencing it even if I cannot check against GT since I've not access to that site (and actually my torrent client is open but idle)
-
I've noticed a huge improvement since I logged in today. No slowdowns yet.
Is anyone still having problems?
-
Certainly seems better today

Using Chrome like you when the pages are slow, I get similar screens of pages not found / time out like in your clip. At the same time, the pages load with Firefox slowly, but they load …
-
I wonder if it's a certain ISP, I'm with Virgin Media.
-
So am I but I doubt that they are bothered. Or would have any effect.
I'm not sure the problem was at our end…
-
With that many users effected (see the Home page poll), I'd say it is not the users or a single ISP. I doubt as well that there is a sudden massive movement of ISPs to slow down traffic with our site.
It can be many things, the site, the site host, ISP inter connections, …
What I noticed is that if the site is slow, Chrome browser is more effected than the Firefox I usually use.
There were made some changes this night (system time) and the pages feel faster to me. To be confirmed.
-
I can verify both points made by Uwe:
- I've got reports from Google Chrome users who switched to Mozilla Firefox and found a great improvement in the page loading speed.
- Today page loading seems to have come back to normal! (at least for me)
