Lesbians

Since when are they not gay?
EDITYes I am seriously asking this.
-
I think the question is odd. I think the textbook definition is that gays are used for male-male tendencies, while lesbians are for female-female tendencies.
actually some of them can be considered butch, so that wouldn't be too gay, would it?
-
They are classified differently than gay men. After all they get their own letter in minority support to GLBT…Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender…lol :rotfl:
No seriously, why do you ask. Is it in terms of the content of our tracker? Strangely enough in our DO NOT UPLOAD thread we ban hetro, bi and underage porn but not lesbian porn.
To dissect this analytically I would say the very definition of Gay as a noun sheds some light on it.
Gay - (n) a homosexual person, especially a male.
What I take away from this is that the classifier for a homosexual male is gay and the classifier for a homosexual female is lesbian.
For me to hear the term gay male is redundant. Kindof like ATM machine…Automatic teller machine machine?
That's just my opinion though.
If you could shed some more light onto why you are asking it may spark a very productive discussion about the subject.

It most certainly is in terms of the content of the tracker, I tried making an upload for a TV series which revolves around a lesbian. I ended up being told that it was not approved due to "lesbian is not gay". This striked my curiosity as to actualy definitions, in which I found the technical definition of gay does not specify male or female. Just that a gay person is attracted to the same sex. It used the term homosexual in the definition so I looked that up as well, and once again it made not specification on male or female. So, now it made me wonder why lesbian was not considered gay. But I found out apparently that the tracker for this site is for gay male only. That's alright though I guess, I have other torrent sites I can upload to. It seems that there have been several defintions adapted to 'gay'. I was talking about this very same subject with some friends in which we all agreed that gay didn't specify male or female, but then we all questioned, if a lesbian is a gay female, then a ????? is gay male. We came up with answers like, queen, queer, campy, etc.
It got me really confused because one of my friends said "well im a lesbian and im sure im gay!!" but then when I thought about politically and how they address us in society, it's LGBT.
I do see where you are coming from in regards to gay male being redudant, but its like I've never had a woman just simply say I'm a lesbian, they usually say they are gay. I think it goes to say that some people think differently than others. Some consider gay to be male and lesbian to be female. Whereas others believe gay to just be a universal term for a person who is attracted to the same sex.

Try saying that you have several lesbian female friends in public and see the reaction you get. It's redundant. If we accept the premise that a homosexual male is a gay then it just seems obvious that a homosexual female(not a gay female)is a lesbian. If we don't accept that premise then I see exactly where you are coming from.
Getting on the topic of a TV series with a lesbian…it would be better to check the forums to see if there is a genuine interest in that kind of content on here. If you look, there are no threads featuring lesbian women in action in the forum.
Most gays(men) don't care for that type of content. Personally I love all types of porn...male/male, female/female, female/male, tranny/male etc. but not all of that content is allowed on here so like you I have to post it and get it elsewhere.
We have a sister site that allows lesbian and bisexual content if you want to check it out.
http://tracker.sextorrents.ruAlso MEGA CUDOS for bringing this to the forefront in discussion of what we consider gay in society. :ok2:
-
That surprises me that a lesbian TV show wasn't approved here.
True, lesbian porn would never be approved, but a TV show about a lesbian still qualifies under GLBT themed.

With that in mind, what was your actual upload attempt?

One of my friends said she was very much gay and very much a lesbian and she is definitely proud about it. Anyhoo, I guess I will just consider that for this website when trying to post content, I just figured a lot of people would enjoy it. Non-pornographic tv series.

Ellen (TV Series 1994–1998)

Ellen qualifies under the GLBT Theme rule.
As a side note for anyone reading this, while Ellen the sitcom qualifies as a whole, Ellen the talk show doesn't unless it's a specific episode relating to GLBT issue/topic.
-
Ellen qualifies under the GLBT Theme rule.
I agree and that show was funny as hell. One thing worth noting is that is wasn't until one of the final seasons that Ellen's character outed herself. That may be why is was disapproved.
Go ahead and reupload it and you may wan't to add a link to this discussion for all the members to see and keep this discussion alive.

You are all set.

I like the idea, but 34GB in one upload? Uff!
Isn't there a 2GB limit to uploads?B.
-
It depends on the type of upload.
We have some pretty big collection torrents here.
You could download just 1 series at a time.

Would it be more sensible for me to upload them 1 season at a time?

Considering you have 15 people downloading already, it's best to keep it as it is.

Sounds good then, thanks for the help, and all the great responses guys.

Let's go back to the dictionary:
Gay: A homosexual person, especially a male.
A person would be male or female. Dictionaries in general try to be brief, so they didn't elaborate but it means the following: "Especially" as in I like all cocks but especially hairy ones. Which means I like hairy ones MORE. Gay then would MORE frequently be used to describe males, but a person is either gender.
In everyday usage though, I would agree with the majority here Gay= male, Lesbian = female. Makes sense, no confusion.

i agree. hehehe. but me… i like all cocks but especially those which are attached to chubby guys.
