New Tag Search System

GayTorrent.ru is pleased to announce an improved SEARCH capability using ~tags.
Whenever we discuss this new feature, we will always use the tilde (“~”) because this is important to how this new feature works.

This will improve our ability to SEARCH for torrents in three major ways:

1. This will help with torrents that can fit into several CATEGORIES.  For instance, some torrents should be classified as Clips, Fetish, Vintage, (DVD-R for Power Users), etc.  The uploader can only choose the one best Category – yet the torrent could also be classified accurately into several other Categories, such as Bareback, Latino, Solo, etc.

2. It will allow members to find specific niches of special interest, such as ~biting, ~dildo, ~exhibitionism, ~gloryhole, ~outdoors, ~rimming, ~smoker, ~tattoos, etc. – which previously were hard to find based upon our existing SEARCH capability.

3. It will allow Books&Magazines, Comic&Yaoi, ThemedMovie and TV/Episodes torrents to specify the genres/formats, such as ~action, ~anime, ~bara, ~comedy, ~drama, ~futanari or a combination of these (as well as the format of the file{s}).

If you feel that we are missing some ~tags in any table that you would like to suggest, please post a forum reply in http://forum.gaytorrent.ru/index.php?topic=13766 for consideration.

TO UPLOADERS – ADDING TAGS TO NEW TORRENTS

We encourage all new uploads to include these ~tags in the last line of the torrent’s description.  Please include as many appropriate ~tags as possible, even if there are 6 or 14 or perhaps more than 30.

Please select these ~tags only from the provided Tables for consistency.  Tags can be in any order.  Please use only lowercase, even though capitalization is not important to search working properly.  Also note that most ~tags for uploaders are plural (eg. ~youngbloods instead of ~youngblood).

While this is voluntary and you will not be “warned” for not using them, these ~tags will let members search for torrents of interest to them much more easily and will, as a result, improve your upload traffic and ratio.  Later, older torrents will be easier to find leading to you and other members that are seeding torrents to gain upload traffic and ratio in the future, as well.

TO DOWNLOADERS – IMPROVED SEARCH

Up until now when doing a search, you could specify all categories (no checkmarks defaults to all categories) or you could put a check on just several to narrow the Category search.

Additional you could type one or more words into the Search text box.  If you type more than one word, they all must be present in the results.

For instance, typing “dahlan frat” means that both “dahlan” and “frat” would need to be present.  Typing only “bar” or “fantasy” or “feet” produces way too many results that are not of value in finding what you are really seeking.

With this new ~tag system, “~bar” could find movies set in a barroom, “~fantasy” could find just fantasy themed movies and TV episodes, and “~feet” could find only movies that involve foot-play.  By using “-” we could search for “~interracial -black” to see such results (note that while there is a ~blacks tag, in this particular case, it will find/exclude both torrents marked with the ~black tag or the word “black” anywhere in the description).

When you type more than one search word, you can also exclude a word by preceding it with the “-” character.  For instance, just “prague” gives about 100 results, but “prague -ami -bare” yields about 30 (note that -ami excludes BelAmi whether spelled with a space or not).  Similarly with ~tags, searching on "~tickle -~feet" would find only torrents marked with ~tickle and not marked with ~feet.

While uploaders should only use the listed ~tags from the tables, members can search with abbreviated tags.  Using “~hispanic” will find “~hispanics” and “~tattoo” will find “~tattoos” for example.

After you watch a video, if you decide to post a comment on the torrent, feel free to add ~tags at the end of your comment.  While search does not [yet] look in comments at this time, we hope to add this capability in the future.

TABLES OF VALID ~TAGS

The ~tags can be in any order in the torrent description because members will typically just search for one or two at a time.

We are providing all the possible ~tags in three Tables to make finding them easier for both the uploader and the member using search.

The FIRST Table C are the Categories so that a torrent can include several appropriate Categories, such as ~clips ~latino ~youngblood ~solo (the uploader should include the ~tag for the Category into which it was originally placed in addition to all other Category ~tags that are appropriate).

The SECOND Table N are the Niches to search for torrents of a special interest, such as ~arabs ~fleshlights ~hairless ~handsfreecum ~kissing ~selfsuck or ~sounding.

The THIRD Table T are for Themes in the THEMED MOVIE, TV/EPISODES, COMIC&YAOI and BOOKS&MAGAZINES Categories.  It provides the genres (often more than one), such as ~animated ~horror ~suspense ~thriller ~werewolf.  Additionally, if the torrent is for COMIC&YAOI or animated TV/EPISODES torrents, even more specific ~tags, such as ~anime ~lemon or ~yiffy are available for searching.  It will also allow certain format searches, such as ~docformat, ~pdfformat and ~txtformat.

A torrent could be placed into several Categories in the past, but uploaders needed to choose only one.

Some torrents need to be placed into a specific primary Category:  Clips, DVD-R (for power users), Fetish, Images, and Member.
With this ~tag system, you can mark a torrent into numerous Categories, such as "~clips ~latinos ~twinks ~solo" even though the primary Category would only be Clips.

Please note that you should include the ~tag for the primary Category into which a torrent was uploaded in addition to the other ~tags (as shown in the above example with the ~clips tag in addition to it being uploaded into that Category).

There has long been discussions about the slight differences between Hunks, Twinks and Youngbloods.  Often these Categories overlap.
Our best resolution (although please feel free to use any and all of these ~tags in your upload or search) is:
Twinks:  boyish looking guys, typically 18-25, with little to no body hair and often with no abs.
Youngbloods:  young looking guys, typically 20-30, with developed abs and may have some body hair.
Hunks:  well-developed studs in nearly any age range, typically with a wonderful physique (although usually under age 40).
