Seeding
-
Hi,
I'm trying to seed some torrents I've downloaded from here but I'm having a hard time connecting to other peers. Like one of my torrents I'm seeding looks like 3(17). I live in the Us and I know at times seeding torrents vary because of different time zones and I was wondering is thaere a certain time I should be able to seed? or is is that others have the file so no one wants it anymore? I'm sorry if I'm coming off as being niave but to be honest I am not a torrent pro. Thank you.

looking at your profile history, you have many torrents that still have many seeders. just keep your torrents online, no need to care for what times because users come from different countries, thus at least once in a while you can catch someone willing your torrents. if you encounter some connection problems, we can "inspect" them but we need you to be connected.

These 3 torrents you have downloaded have 10 or more leechers. Why not seed them to help get your ratio up? Good Luck.

You torrent client programme shows up as not connectable by other members torrent client programmes. That is not good to upload, because others trying to ask yours for some parts of a torrent, will get no answer and pass to clients which answer. So only if your client advertise it want to send it may work.
This can many reasons (port forwarding and/or firewall setting). First things to try:
- activate the Windows firewall exception in µTorrent > Options > Preferences > Connections
- same for UPnP
You can test with the µTorrent built-in test tool: Speed Guide > Test if ports are forwarded properly
or look to the peer list of one torrent you seed. -
are you behind firewall/proxy that you can not control?
if so then either socksify your client and create a tunnel over the firewall/proxy to outside world using ssh
or see if your proxy supports torrents~rR
