How to create torrents and seed with Azureus:
This guide is brought to you by: Windsong.

      1. The first and most important thing you must do when using Azureus to upload to gaytorrent.ru is to locate your default directories that you have set Azureus put you torrent files and your downloaded file.

This is very important because Azureus will be overwriting the torrent file that you created for uploading with your user id info when you download your torrent from the site. This is how you get credit points.

It is also important to has the file you used to make the torrent in you default download directory because when Azureus is checking the torrent when you start you download it will look there to see how much is done. When Azureus sees that the whole file is there it will go into it's seeding mode.

      2. Making a torrent with Azureus
Go to the file tab select new torrent from the pop-out menu. After you do this you will see a make torrent screen.

      3. In the make torrent screen you will see a field to enter the announce URL put
      { http://tracker.gaytorrent.ru:80/announce.php}
without the brackets in that field. It won't delete any address that is already in there, it will simply add the new address to a pullout list so you won't have to add the address each time you make a torrent for this site.

      Use external tracker yes
      Decentralized tracker off
      Add muliti tracker info unchecked
Add hashes for other networks checked
and last but not least single file or directory choice is yours

      4. After filling out the make torrent screen click the next radio button this will move you on to the seclect file and or directory screen. Use the browse button and go to the defalut Azureus download dir where you put the file or folder you wanted to upload select it and hit the open button. Now click the next button.

      5. You will now be at the make torrent screen very very important! The open torrent for seeding when completed must be unchecked!!! Failure to do this will cause the connection to be refused be the tracker.

      6. Now hit the finish button you will see a completion graph and a log. When it is done close the screen.

      7. Log on to the site select upload from the tool bar and then click the yes I have read link . Pick the catagory, upload the pictures and now choose the torrent you made that will be in your defalut torrent directory.

      8. Hit the do it button when you get the success screen redownload the torrent you just uploaded. If you left Azureus runing it will popup and start the torrent. It will check to see how much of the file you have and when it finds the whole file it will start seeding it. Now leave it alone.
This will only happen if you've set Azureus (now Vuze) to "Automatically download to default directory (no prompt)" which is not the default setting.
If you use this setting Azureus will only  check and seed your torrent automatically if the file is placed in your default directory beforehand.
This is how to seed using the default settings:
After you click "Download" Vuze will pop up a prompt asking you to either Open or Save the torrent, set it to Open and click OK.
This will then bring up another window which will have the field "Location to save data" in the middle of it, click "Browse", navigate to the folder of the actual file you want to seed (not the .torrent file), and click OK.
If you've done it correctly Vuze will run a check of the file and move it from downloading mode to seeding mode once the check is complete.

When you start a new upload Azureus may tell you that you are firewalled till the torrent is approved by the gaytorrent staff this is normal just wait till you get a green light from Azureus. Also you can look on your profile page and see your torrent with one seed (you) if your did every thing right.

Now, what about just plain seeding of files that I've downloaded from this site?  I noticed recently that my ratio wasn't doing so well, and upon looking, i found that all my downloads I left to seed were showing as "Scrape Error: File not found."  However, it will upload WHILE i'm downloading, but as soon as it's finished and goes to seed. . . file not found.

This is the only site with which I have this problem, and it only started to happen in the last month or so.  Do I need to change something in Azureus along similar lines to what you're referring to?

I have had this same issue for a while.  I have not been able to trace the cause yet, but I am trying to find it.  I do know that I seem to get the correct information if I just set all my torrents to queue and use my seeding rules.  It looks like when I do this Azureus will occationaly make a real connection to get the latest seeder / leecher counts.

Which version of Azurus are you using?

Same "Tracker Status" error on some files through gaytorrent.ru, but not others:
            "Scrape Error: File Not Found"

Using Vuze 3.1.1.0 on MAC OS X (10.5.4)

I've left the actual file in the default directory, but moved the torrent file into a "completed folder."  Doesn't seem to make a difference (as one file says "OK").

Having EXACTLY the same problem - 'Scrape Error - file not found' after just a few minutes of seeding.  I have spent hours on this and am now about to give up.  Why make it so hard to upload/seed?  Most of us are MORE THAN willing to do so, but are finding it impossible!  David

                Hi,

I have the same problem, but I found something that helps get rid of the errros on many of the torrents.
It took some time, but by doing some network captures I think I found the solution.  I saw that some tracker checkes worked and other did not.  Comparing the requests I found that the working requests were on a single torrent, while the failed requests all had multiple torrent requests in them.

I found that the following change should work:

                • Open the 'Options' page
                    - 'Tools' - "Options'.
                • Expand the 'Tracker' section.
                • Click on the 'Client' sub section.
                • Check the 'Disable per-tracker scrape aggregation (can help with trackers that report 'URL too long (414) errors)'
                • Click 'Save'
                • Restart Vuse (azureus)

The tracker status sould now work.  It may take longer as it is making single reqeusts, but they should work.

It seems that instead of returning the "414 - URL Too Long" error the system is just returning the "404 - Not Found" error.  The cause is the same, the URL that Vuse is sending when using aggregation is too long for the system to understand, and it fails the request.

Please let me know if this worked for you or if you had any issues with the instructions.

I have noticed that is still occurs at times, but it's better now.

                Thanks,
                Rydar

I am having issues downloading & seeding on Vuze 4.0.0.2.

Is anyone having the same issue? I read on the Vuze website that states "Many trackers keep whitelists of allowed clients. They clearly haven't added 4.0.0.2 to their list."

Is this true & if so why is there a delay with GAYtorrent?

I hope someone can share some light.

                  Thanks

we don't block new clients (so far) no need to worry

aaliass: this is not an error message, it's about which client programs are allowed to communicate with a tracker

I'm using Vuze 4.0.0.2 on a Mac and it's working fine.

                        Are you still having problems?

Hey Everyone, thanks for your feedback.

Realised I had done some changes in advance Network settings as I received an error when I performed NAT/Firewall test.

Error " Binding server socket failed as no compatible addresses are available, please check your bind-to-ip settings"

Tried recommended settings, but I had no access to the tracker…

I just reverted back and left the error as is. Unless anyone has any feedback or suggestions.

                          Thanks
                          Agnostos

                              @F00F:

I have followed your step by step ont he torrent, i think the open for seed needs to be checked not unchecked, i have tried various options when uploading if it is not checked how to you get it in there to seed for approval, you can download the torrent but no option to place it there, if it is checked "Azureus" now Vuze places it in the process for seeding, when you upload the torrent and re download only the "torrent" it will ask you to replace the torrent already there, and hence yes, so the torrent that you made through vuze with the seed checked makes it work. the other way only makes the torrent come up with an error as unregistered torrent.

                                @davidmaxx:

Unchecked. As you need to upload it to the tracker first and then use the downloaded torrent file for seeding. The original torrent file you make won't work.

I have been having a problem with Vuze - my tracker status for torrents I download from this site all say "scrape error: file not found" though there is clearly a torrent file and a downloaded file in the correct director.

Should I be looking for something specific that I need to change?

It's just a scrape error due to the tracker not supporting scrapes, it's not a problem in Vuze.

                                      Right-click –> Queue and they should change to OK {as long as those torrents haven't been deleted on the from the website or your passkey hasn't been reset}

Preferences --> Queue --> Seeding --> First Priority --> A share ratio under [1.1], set the rest to ignore and uncheck Torrents with 0 Peers

Queue –> Seeding --> Ignore Rules --> uncheck Ignore torrents with 0 peers

I have the same problem, except in uTorrent (v1.8.2).

There's no obviously similar option available - anyone know what the equivalent is?

In µTorrent it is > "Options" > "Preferences" > "Queueing" > "Seed While Ratio is : <= xx %". Replace the xx by a value you like, preferable 100% or above and activate "Seeding tasks have higher priority than downloading tasks"

Similar to Vuze (Azureus), the default value is only too low 50% (= 0.500 ratio)

I'm not sure if mine is working. Been waiting for approval but says 0 peers.

I was going to remake the torrent to these steps to make sure it did it right but my file in Vuze folder is now a data file thingy I can't open or do anything with. It works perfectly fine in the Vuze  "My Library" though and I can watch it and open it in other video players. But not from the folder, is there a way to turn my video back to normal? I'm confused.  :-X
