Thanks!Apparently, it is against the existing rules to request or offer to share invitations to sites but I didn't know that until I searched because of your question because it happens frequently and the rule doesn't seem to be enforced. I've even done it myself!

You might want to use the Helpdesk feature in the drop-down menu under Support at the top right of the page to ask if that rule is still in effect.
The board people generally use to ask for and offer invitations is Chit Chat.
