Do you find yourself needing more/unlimited data while torrenting?
-
I recently got back on the torrenting bandwagon after not doing it for a number of years because I was worried about getting copyright notices. I went a little crazy with downloading/uploading here and with other sites, and got a notice a few days ago not about copyright that I had used 90% of my data for the month, and it was only the start of the second week.
I had actually forgotten that there was a data limit from my provider (comcast) of 1 TB since I've used it for a while without encountering this problem.
I'm okay for this month since they don't charge you if aren't a repeat offender, but I was wondering do you have to always vigilant of your usage while torrenting? Is an unlimited data plan worth hit?

well I dont use my home connection but a remote virtual machine on a dedicated server I rent with unlimited transfer. If you transfer that much you should consider this ( I pay hum 20 euro/month for that but you can manage to find real dedicated server for less https://console.online.net/en/order/server ) and also you avoid copyrights problems

I have had an unlimited plan for a few years now (Australia), and the price difference between "Unlimited", and those with specified limits, is not all that much different. So it's something I have never had to even think about for some years now.

Thanks to having an MLPPP setup, I am gifted with the graces of unlimited data. The problem with measuring usage data with MLPPP is the fact that you have to be able to measure session usage across multiple interfaces simultaneously. The result is that because this is not realistically doable, they have to make it unlimited.
