Supreme Court says Trump can't deploy National Guard to Chicago for now
-
Dems pretend they won, but Trump did - in fine print.
The high court left untouched a judge's decision blocking the government from putting National Guard members on the streets of Chicago and surrounding areas.
the Supreme Court found that "at least in this posture" the Trump administration has not met its burden to show that Title 10, the law Mr. Trump invoked, permits him to federalize the National Guard "in the exercise of inherent authority to protect federal personnel and property in Illinois."
What really happens.
-
Antifa terrorists attack CBP, FBI & ICE agents who enforce USA immigration law
-
but more in other states, than IL
-
SCOTUS says Federal agents & property have not been harmed or blocked enough in IL - yet - to assume they have broken down & need backup from National Guard - yet
-
future could be different
-
or Trump could invoke USA Insurrection Act for different rules, use regular military
