That's just ill-informed. Many of those 23 million do not currently HAVE insurance to begin with. Many of those that do, cannot afford the premiums to use it anyway. Let's not forget that Obamacare is actually a TAX, not healthcare. Only a few million of the "23 million" would actually lose existing coverage – and these people would receive tax credits to purchase new plans, many of which would cost less under the AHCA. The millions who'd "lose" coverage would do so voluntarily, affirmatively choosing not to buy a product that the government is no longer forcing them to purchase.

But that isn't what they are doing. Those people are forcing me and you to pay their costs. Most of those people are going to end up sick at some point and will need to use the ER for care. Then they will skip out on the bill and the taxpayers and other people with insurance will have to pay more via higher premiums. I am sick and tired of paying for freeloaders. Pay for your own healthcare.

Just to be clear, the Maryland senator charged is a member of the Maryland state legislature, not the US Senate. But I agree corruption is wrong at any level.

See, the thing is, people who are good at math and have common sense understand that the fundamental function of Obamacare was to explicitly cut down on "freeloading" by people without healthcare coverage, something it did an extremely good job of. So what if the top 5% had to pay a tiny smidge more for healthcare coverage in order to allow the bottom 95% to have a fighting chance of surviving? That's what taxes are for, hunntrey! If you can't stomach the thought of spending a few extra dollars in order to help the several millions drowning in poverty survive, you're just another scummy "elite". Though in reality, I highly doubt you were on that end of the spectrum anyway. But I shouldn't make assumptions; tell me, how much did your premiums go up when the ACA went into action?
