The Last of Us

If you haven't watched The Last of Us on HBO yet, then you should. It is one of the best video game adaptations ever done. It's a post-apocalyptic world wherein a fungus has taken over the bodies of billions of humans and turned them into "zombies."
Episode 3 is a bottle episode about a gay couple who grow old with each other in the post-apocalypse world.

@hubrys im gonna download it now.

I hope it's more lore friendly than The Witcher.
I love gay storylines as long as they have a reason to exist other than "because we needed one".

I'll go out on a limb to say, I'm unaffected by how this does or doesn't match up to the ultra-popular video game.
I would just advise to see it. When the episode was over, I paused the TV and sat to take it all in.
What a portrayal by Nick Offerman (who is coincidentally married to the openly bisexual Megan Mullaly). Deeply moving.

...the start of this article directly addresses the game vs TV characters:

Episode 3 was masterful. Video game adaption or not, diverging from the games story or not, "woke hollywood writers ruining mah vidya gamez" or not, it's just a really well made hour (and 15 mins) of television.
-
@raphjd So, with my having near-zero knowledge of the video game, I read that this was a notable expansion of what was known previously about the characters. When you've had a chance to see it, curious to know what you thought.

i loved it , cant wait for season 2

First season was great, but I worry about how long this will end up lasting; I imagine HBO wasn't expecting how much of a hit this would be and a part of me wonders if they're going to stretch this out and milk it to the point only the die-hard fans are watching,
They probably won't but with "The Walking Dead" still fresh in my mind (I can't believe that lasted eleven seasons. I thought it was getting stale and the show was starting to spin its wheels by season 3.) I can't help but wonder.
On an off-topic side note, Anna Torv being in this reminded me of another show, Fringe. Man, that series, season three, in particular (though it should absolutely be watched in order...otherwise you will be basically looking at the TV, head-tilted to one side, thinking: what the fuck did I just watch? ) is definitely worth a look.
