      Hello,

      I've noticed that torrents uploaded to gaytor.rent show up in Google search results. Is this as it should be? I can imagine that some users (myself included) prefer their torrents not to be made public. I know people have to log in to see the actual torrent page, but I still see some privacy issues emerging.

        Microsofts Bing doesn't show these results.

          The main reason these torrents are visible via google search,
          the poster neglect to check Private torrent during creating of new torrent ...

            @john32123666

            I've always "Private Torrent" checked when I create a torrent.

            These are my settings in qBittorrent:

              This has nothing to do with the torrent file itself but rather a poor configuration of the site to prevent the pages from being indexed by search engines.

              Take a look at the image above, this is a set of tags that aim to indentify the page using various filters to make the page more "findable" by search engines.

              They could add a tag to prevent the page from being indexed, but instead they use various tags to help search engines at displaying these pages more effectively in their results.

              Adding a noindex tag instead, even if the entire page is visible to google, that page will never be displayed in the search results as requested by the page itself. But as you can see from the image above, Gaytorrent actually wants torrent pages to be indexed so it's a valid discussion imo.

              The fact that the same pages don't show up on Bing means that Bing have deliberately chosen to omit the entire gaytorrent site from their results.
