He's saying: We're lame, we do the easy cases. Because admitting his political bias would be worse.
It mirrors UK Aus Canada trends where police would rather sit on their arse watching people's social media & give tickets for a minor so-called "hate" remark, than solve rapes burglaries murders pedophilia or human trafficking.
