What do you think about straight actors playing gay characters?

Netiquette dictates that when you ask a question, you give your answer. The only exception is when you are doing pure research and don't want to affect the results, but you would let the readers know this upfront.
I think it's a stupid issue made up by liberals.
Ellen Paige said that an actor can only play whatever boxes they tick and went on lunatic rants when people broker her rule. She becomes a dude and suddenly it's ok for him to play a chick, in clear violation of the rule she/he made up for others.
It's called acting.
If we are against heteros playing LGBT, then the reverse must also be true or you are a hypocrite.
In the age of Blackwashing every character (real or fictional), it's odd that people can't seem to see how ironic all this is.

Acting implies playing a role which an actor is not in real life. Extend the parameters from sexuality and think about the roles involving super heroes to criminals - who should play them?
