Want it to look more spacious? Go with light colors.
Classic? Beige, tan, gray.
Feeling bold? One of the walls with a bright tone (Blue, yellow, green or purple) while the rest follow a classic pattern.Take in account the room furniture, use and the inhabitants.

There is paint that has bits in it to reflect light.
Except for the kitchen and bathroom, we have this everywhere inside. We used matt paint with medium tones and it's still brighter than you'd think.

I suggest anything that suits with the furniture and home space. Also, avoid white it's so common and just boring..

If you crave privacy from neighbors and all forms of door-knockers, create fear with high-gloss black.
-
Light colors (white or light grey) always give a more spacious feeling in the room.

I recently painted my bedroom "First Light" by Benjamin Moore. Nowhere near as pink as it looks online and provides some orange and yellow, so it makes it much easier to wake up in the morning.

Personally I would prefer white or light gray/beige. It will make room cleaner and spacious.

Light gray is how the walls in my house are painted.
