What do you think about gay-for-pay stars?
-
Once, I watched a documentary about Vadim Black and Sean from SeanCody talking about having a double life, being with their girlfriends and at the same time, working in the gay porn industry. There are some others, like Colby Jansen, Johnny Rapid, Brandon from SeanCody, and some others.
Do. you think they are actually gay? Or are they just doing their jobs? Or are they pretending they are straight when they could go bi, for example?

I don't understand people that would subject themselves to performe acts they are repelled by.
If belive they are at least bi, pan, or just really into sex…
-
I will say this again and again.
1. There is no such thing as gay for pay - for those that decide to make it a "continued business". If you continue doing gay porn it is because on some level you enjoy it!.
2. There is no such thing as "I have gay sex from time to time but I am straight because I have a girlfriend". There are plenty of gay guys who have girlfriends because it is expected of them.
3. There is no such thing "I've never thought about having sex with a guy before because I'm mega macho straight guy". The thought did cross your mind and here you are doing porn. people don't just get up and suddenly realize "Well I never thought about gay sex before, but I should start today"
4. There is no such thing "I've tried everything else, it didn't work out, so gay porn is all I have left to do!" straight guys would rather "degrade" themselves to doing lots of other things rather than gay sex.
5. There is no such thing "I'm doing gay porn (on regular basis) because I'm desperate for quick cash" - Like most people, straight guys would rather "struggle" day to day and make a living with what they got. or again - "degrade" themselves to doing lots of other things rather than gay sex!!- These guys are bi in denial at least. they lie to themselves and they believe it.
- I can understand in some rare cases where a truly straight guy would have a gay sex for money, however, truly straight guys would do LOTS of other things to make money and not have gay sex!.
- It's amazing just how many guys are in the gay porn industry who claim to be straight - it's like there is absolutely no other way of making money but doing gay porn - how can it be?!?! truly disgraceful!! - to force someone to make gay porn like that!!!
I know straight when I see it. they would punch you in the face if you ever suggest the idea.

I think you're right and I think they use this label to protect their name in the industry, since many gays have this fetish with straight guys… If they confess they are gays or bi guys, this could damage their image as a fetish.

Your opinion on gay-for-pay actors is the same as the Christian fundamentalists' opinion on gay guys. You're imposing your perspective on their lives, telling them they can't be that merely because you can't be that. You're telling them that they have to live their lives by your rules.
1. Yes, they enjoy it the financial rewards and they can enjoy the physical sensations.
2. You don't get to dictate their attractions. If they are exclusively attracted to women, then no matter how many guys they bang or vice versa they are straight.
3. Glad you can tell people what they have or have not thought. Did you get any other powers with your Telepathy?
4. To many guys sex is sex, even if it's with someone they are not the least bit attracted to. Just because you're more picky about when and with whom you have sex doesn't mean everyone has the same attachments to it.
5. Did you know that it's possible to find something physically pleasurable even if you hate it? Victims of rape (both male and female) can and do achieve orgasm even though they aren't into that situation in any way, shape, or form. If non-consensual sex can be pleasurable then consensual sex certainly can be. Every man's ass has the same nerves in it (otherwise there'd be an ass test for "gay") so straight men can enjoy getting fucked even if they find the thought of sex with men repulsive on some level, but the ones who do gay porn don't usually think that way. Since the 70s psychologists have been telling us sexuality is on a spectrum, so why is it so hard to believe there are men in the straight portion of the spectrum who can enjoy sex with other men for reasons other than attraction to said men? -

I could be wrong but what about oral sex? i don't suppose we have "pleasure nerves" in our mouths. Even if we do have, where do you draw the line for straight man to engage in gay sex? a straight guy can get fucked because of biology, then so he can suck dick.
So generally what you're saying is (and correct me if I'm wrong): since every straight guy can enjoy a dick in his ass and his mouth biologically, he can still identify as straight. Your theory is correct in that sense. The mind overpowers the body. The more your mind is strong enough you can "overcome" and resist the experience of gay sex. and since it's more of a mind-set, both genders can enjoy both genders.
I can decide that from now on i'm straight since biologically i can enjoy having sex with a woman because my penis is made of nerves that are programmed to react to stimulations. At any point in a man's life he can decide that he enjoys gay sex, so why do we need to differentiate sexual orientation? Everyone is straight and everyone is gay.

At the end of the day, why is this even a debate? I enjoy watching hot men have sex; but since I'm not sleeping with any of them in reality, what difference does it make (and why should it make any difference) what they do when they're not on my screen?
Let's say that they're actually straight. Obviously they have concluded that the benefits from this work outweigh the costs. Who here hasn't had a job they didn't like but stayed for the money (or whatever benefit was important enough to us at the time)?
Let's say that they're actually gay. Obviously they have concluded that the benefits of concealing it outweigh the costs. Who here hasn't concealed some aspect that might prove problematic in a social setting (such as our apparent fondness for watching gay porn)?
See? What we think of them doesn't matter; and we can argue both sides until the moon goes blue with cold. But at the end of the day, the problem (if there is one) is theirs and those who are actually sharing their lives while all of us have moved on to the next hot guy on the playlist.
Just my 2 cents. (For those outside the US, a cent is 1/100 of a US dollar and is virtually worthless.)
-
I don't follow/watch them.
Some talk shit about gay porns and even gays.
Yep, that is where your money go to.
-
I think "Gay for pay" is just a ruse used by sites to lure guys. We all want to fuck/get fucked by a straight guy and claim that we converted him. Its a boost for our ego. If gay sex is really disgusting to them then they would not do it. There are other ways of making money..
-
I love watching straight guys get serviced. but it has to be like real not that. fake feeling kinda vibe. I like the more amature side of it.
-
Some of them are just doing it as a job. There are those who enjoy putting their dicks in any hole, regardless of who is attached to it. Then there are the gay ones who just say they're straight to increase demand r to maintain an image. Gay and straight are jst very rigid laels, when in human sexuality it's very much different shades, not various well-defined blocks.
-
A little late to the party, but I figured I'd better reply than start a new topic.
Anyway, I believe there are are straight, gay porn actors.
Gay porn notably pays more than straight porn for men. So, if you want some easy money, gay porn is a great option - one can record a scene in 2, 3 hours (though some scenes take much more time), the production team pays for the airfare, and you can walk out of the studio with $3,000 for just one day's work. Financially, it's quite a good option.
Devon Hunter, a former porn star (who's bi), discussed how his work for Sean Cody went, and how he acted opposite a straight guy, who was only in it for the money. He mentions how the guy could only hold an erection for 30-60 seconds, then went soft and they had to do another take. This went on for 8 hours, which rendered muliple takes of both guys being hard. In the end, the actors are hard throughout all of the video because of the editing. Joey Mills himself thanked one of the editors when he received an award a few years ago, so we can only imagine what magic those guys do. Anyway, the article's a very thorough and interesting read, for anyone who's interested: https://devonhunter.info/archives/1625/
I also believe a man can enjoy having sex with men even if they're not gay or bi. Sexual orientation has to do with attraction, not what kind of body the person you're having sex with has. I read a few years ago an article about a gay for pay actor who claimed that he discovered he enjoyed having sex with men - a mouth is a mouth and a hole is a hole. Maybe he thought of a woman, maybe he could just ignore that the other person was a man, who knows? That's However, he was never physically attracted to men: he'd never look at a guy and think 'Oh, he's handsome, I want to have sex with him'. why he identified as straight - and, to me, that makes perfect sense.
There's also the reason behind saying the sexuality of the actor. Compare Broke Straight Boys and Bel Ami: the first one relies on the objectification of straight men, that's their whole marketing. They profit from it, so we need to take any info regarding the sexuality of the performers with a grain of salt, as they could be lying just to get more clients. But Belami doesn't profit from it at all, and yet they claim Kris Evans, one of their biggest models, is straight. Since they don't gain anything from it (specially because I doubt a lot of people have actually ever read Kris' profile page), I don't see why they'd lie about it.
There are some actors who have said they're straight, like Johnny Rapid and Zeb Atlas. You can also see it in their scenes - Rapid is flat in a lot of them, whether he be kissing, sucking/being sucked, giving or receiving anal, for example. If you don't believe it, it's okay. However, in my opinion, there's a good chance they are - whilst there's still a good chance a lot of gay porn actors who claim they're straight are actually bi or gay in denial. Those situations aren't mutually exclusive.
I think a good way to see if a porn actor is gay is checking if they post gay sex in their onlyfans page (or a similar page), if they have one at all. Since there's little to no editing, most guys would be flacid throughout a lot of the video. I only see famous gay or bi actors post gay scenes, like Austin Wolf, Diego Sans and Lane Rogers/Blake Mitchell. A straight guy wouldn't want to expose himself like that, specially because no one would subscribe to his page.
Also, last but not least: why would secretly gay or bi people not come out, if it's already known they fuck men? People who want to be homophonic to them already will because they'll assume they're these gay.
Does anyone know of other gay por pay actors? I think Belami must have quite a few of them, like Kris Evans: hard to believe they always find handsome, muscular men with big cocks who always happen to be gay.

Does anyone know of other gay por pay actors?
There are many of them, especially in Eastern Europe, Brazil, etc.
Sexuality is a spectrum and few straight men are unable to enjoy sex with another man under any circumstances. It often happens in prisons, the military, boarding schools, etc.
There must be some advantages to being perceived as straight because some do pretend to be straight when they are actually bi or gay. They might start out as topping only before bottoming as their career ages.
You mentioned Johnny Rapid. He has a wife and child, so I would consider him to be at least bi if not straight even though he is one of the most prolific actors in gay porn and probably bottoms a lot more than he tops.
Certain Bel Ami and other Eastern European gay porn actors do make (or have made) efforts to present themselves as straight even when they are bi or gay, such as Jim Kerouac. Others are probably straight when they are not in front of a camera, like Denis Reed, who left a wife and child when he died a few years ago.
I find it interesting to watch a gay porn actor start out either straight or at least very camera shy and warm up to it over time and eventually become enthusiastic about it. Bobby Owens at Broke Straight Boys is one who was hilarious in his first few videos and now he even has a porn star mustache and seems to enjoy the sex. Tommy Hunter at EastBoys is another one like that.
Some Sean Cody actors also seem to be straight but eventually really get into it. Jess (with the marijuana tattoo) may be bi, but he comes across to me as more of a straight guy who is laid back enough to enjoy making gay porn videos.
How many men who are gay and do gay porn also do straight porn or bi porn in which they fuck women? That's a more interesting question.

I think there’s a generational component to this as well. I’m in my 50s and coming out as gay back then seems to have a different meaning than coming out does to the younger generation. Back then, being out publicly, especially during the onslaught of AIDS in the 1980s was a personal, political, and social declaration. With todays’ vastly different attitudes about sexuality (at least in the West) coming out is no longer a declaration of liberation/rebellion against mainstream society. Non-straightness has become part of mainstream society.
Furthermore, the younger generation has very different way of looking at and categorizing sex and sexuality. There have been numerous studies (no, I’m not going to look them up and site them) showing that among teenagers and 20-somethings there is a lot of attitude fluidity and that playing around with someone of the same gender is no big deal. Even “straight” behavior has been undergoing a lot of change, as young straight guys seem to be less and less worried about what is traditionally masculine. True, not all straight guys, young or older, ascribe to these new norms, but acceptance of these new norms is spreading. Seems to me that all this acceptance can only be a good thing.
As far as self-identifying as straight, I’ve heard a lot of different definitions. Some guys who are straight are simply not excited my other men. Some can have sex with other guys, but their romantic attachments are towards women.
Given this situation, it’s no surprise that some straight guys have gay sex for money, and that the reasons cover the whole spectrum described in previous replies, particularly among young men who don't attach much stigma to the idea.
Lastly, I think part of it is an anti-bisexual bias that is common among both straight and gay people. Many see bisexual men (in particular) as either wishy-washy or untrustworthy or both. Somehow it’s cool for a straight guy to fool around with men, but bi-guys are often treated with suspicion. If I were a bi-man in the porn industry, given the high status of a straight-guy-going-gay, I would certainly go for the moolah and status and claim to be straight. Why not? In terms of the actual work involved, it’s all the same; what is different is the perception of the potential viewer/customer.
At any rate, what does it matter how a porn actor chooses to portray himself? Porn isn’t real anyway - it’s pure fantasy. In reality, we know next to nothing about the actors’ lives off the set. And in the real world a person can label themselves - or not - however they choose to, and by whatever definition the choose to apply to themselves. Who are we to tell them what they can or can’t call themselves, especially when we know nothing about them?
OK, this reply went on way longer than intended!

Many parts of the U.S. are still hostile territory for LGBT+ people even though it is certainly better than it used to be if only because of the internet and availability of media. The current federal administration is fighting as hard as they can against basic civil rights for LGBT+ people as are many state and local governments. In NYC and many other cities, acceptance varies depending on neighborhood, career, workplace, etc. Even some LGBT+ people hate other letters in the acronym, trans people in particular, and there is plenty of evidence for that right here in this forum.
Coming out still requires a lot of courage for many people depending on their circumstances and liberation is not complete.

I say it's just a job for them. Compared to being a computer technician or even a high school teacher; being gay-for-pay is an "easy money" industry for relatively little work. Of course, I know the back scenes stuff is more demanding; you have to be able to cum multiple times in cases of premature ejaculation and actually get hard enough to fuck. Heck, even the bottoms need to get hard while being fucked for the sake of the cameras.
On the other hand, it does raise the question of "true sexuality" with regards to the actors. Nowadays, I feel like people use the terms gay, straight, etc., as strictly catagorizing terms. If you commit a sexual act with a guy or even have thoughts of wanting to try things out with the same sex, you are at least bi. That thinking or committing a same-sex act would then qualify you as gay/bi to some degree.
I don't find that to be wholly true; it merely instigates curiosity and the want to try out what we find curious. For example, I could be taking college classes on video design and get my major in it; it doesn't mean my ultimate job would be in the video industry. I could easily take on an unrelated job such as manager of my own shop in antiques. Not that good of a comparison, but it should get my point across. Sexuality isn't as black and white as some think it to be. (I'm sure I'll get flack for saying that, but it's how I feel.)
To go back to the gay for pay actors, some probably think of it as just another job. It doesn't matter if they are gay or aren't exactly thrilled with being in the industry; it's a living and requires less skill than other jobs. Now that's not me saying being a porn actor is easy; I'm merely saying gay-for-pay can sometimes be exactly what the term implies. Of course, it also helps that gay porn is probably more competitive than straight porn and thus may pay more money.
-
The ones who can get a hardon or even semi are probably not 'straight'. The ones who are always flaccid and only bottom, probably are more 'straight' than not. Thus they are only doing it for the cash.
-
For me, a performer's personal life is none of my business. In fact, I usually prefer not to know so I don't spoil my fantasy conception of him.
What I really care about is the performer's performance. I don't like straight-guy worship porn. I'm turned off by obvious gay-for-pay cues like no kissing or rimming (especially bottom rimming top and never vice versa) and so on. On the other hand, if a reportedly gay-for-pay actor performs enthusiastically like a gay actor, I'm cool.
It's the final product I care about.
The exception would be gay-for-pay performers busted for criminal activities like blackmailing their gay sugar daddies and so on. I want nothing to do with them.
