Torrents vanishing from site after a while?
-
Hi folks,
my server crashed and my backup was 6 months old, so I lost roughly 1/3 of my collection. But luckily I had all *.torrent files so I could easily import them again and download most of the files.
Now: some torrents seem to be dead and even more: when I search them here on the site I can't find them any more, e.g. "TIM Hard Cuts 3", "Pig Prod - Cumcottage", approx.. 80 files seem to be gone. Is this really the case? When are dead torrents deleted? Or is there hope I can download them in another way? -
Some of the torrents that you can't find anymore might have been requested to be taken down.

Thank you for the reply, this might be the case. But I'm missing more than 80 torrents - can the request for withdrawal be the case for all of them?
What happens to a torrent when there are no seeders for some weeks or months? -

Yes, a significant number of torrents are removed from the site on an ongoing basis. I have learned to download a new torrent that I want immediately as they are often removed. That is particularly true with certain studios.
You can make a regular Google search for the torrent that is missing using site:gaytorrent.ru as a search term and sometimes see the removed torrent in the results. For instance:
https://www.google.com/search?q=tim+hard+cuts+3+site%3Agaytorrent.ru
When you click on this result:
TIM - Hard Cuts 3 (Complete) - Gaytorrent.ru
https://www.gaytorrent.ru/details.php/ff55125c42aa1ed671a4245d9ffa993acf56d88d573be16b/TIM+-+Hard+Cuts+3+%28Complete%29You get a page here that says, "No torrent with ID."
That means it was removed from the site because of a takedown request, because it was a duplicate torrent or otherwise didn't follow the rules, etc.

It stays on the site as a "dead" torrent and doesn't appear in search results for active torrents. Right now, search results show 169,492 dead torrents and 202,998 active torrents.
A torrent can show as dead but still have intermittent seeders as some people do not seed 24/7/365. Also, a re-seed request will occasionally result in a response.

Thank you very much for your reply, that helped a lot. Now I understand much better whats the reason behind. It seems that Treasure Island Media asked for take down of some torrents.
Also the Google-search option is super, I will do so on a regular basis.
Thanks a mil!
