WHY do torrents that I have downloaded STILL SAY LEECHING in my profile?

This is a common complaint we hear from our members.

When you SKIP portions of a torrent that you have chosen to download, these torrents  stay forever in your "leeching" (downloading) list, as long as you continue seeding them.

This is by design of torrents and trackers. Partially downloaded torrents can NEVER REPORT BACK AS COMPLETED.

The only way to resolve this is to UNSKIP the portions of the torrents you originally SKIPPED, so the download can complete, then report back to the tracker that the download is COMPLETE…

...OR stop seeding the partially downloaded torrents.

      Take care,

Sometimes I'm only interested in a few of the files in a multi-file torrent.  Once I have those, I often keep the torrent active so I can seed other users–so my user profile will show me as leeching lots of torrents, even though I'm no longer leeching files, just seeding them.  Is there a down side to having my statistics look "bad" this way?  It seems to be working out fine.

On a related note (and maybe off-topic for this thread), my ratio is about 4.0, thanks to moving back to a city and having a high-speed connection.  Am I running up the score here and not letting other users with low ratios seed more volume?

As noted in the previous comment - this results in downloading one or a few files from a 'pack' - only to have them shared but showed as leeched.

the only option is just to remove them (after sharing for a long while) - just to remove a few 'blockers' on downloading rules.

pity that this cant be fixed in some other way… but ...  I'll just have to regularly check what is showing as 'leeching' from packs.
