I've left my laptop open for days on end to seed the videos I've downloaded, but hardly anyone's downloaded them and so I'm struggling to get my ratio up 😕

Looks like you haven't downloaded that many videos and don't have that many bonus points so you probably haven't been seeding for long.   If you continue seeding you'll get 0.5 bonus points every hour whether or not someone actually downloads from you.  Then you can exchange the points for upload credit to improve your ratio.  Those points can really add up over a month or more.  In 50 days you would earn 600 points, enough to exchange for 10GB traffic.

You can also earn points by voting on categories for videos you downloaded or by finding videos with no screenshots and uploading some screenshots.

Click on the Ratio and Bonus links at the top right of the screen for more information about how to boost your ratio and earn bonus points.

              One Word: SeedBox

Some people object by claiming "a seedbox is too expensive". Really? Do you know how much electricity your computer uses? Then there is your ISP bandwidth usage allocation. Not to mention the general wear and tear on your computer. Running a home computer 24/7 will shorten it's life.

It's possible to get a quality seedbox with lots of extras like your own personal cloud, backup and video/audio streaming for $0.59 per day. So how does that compare?

When talking about math(s) most peeps say "I don't understand math(s)" click their brain does dead. But it's important you understand how your electricity bill is calculated.

              So, here's an example. A computer that uses 500W. That 500 watts per hour, or 0.5Kwh (500 / 1000). Leave it running for a day (24 hours) that's 500 * 24 = 12,000w or 500 / 1000 * 24 = 12Kwh. And if your electricity supplier charges $0.05 per Kwh, your computer cost you 500 / 1000 * 24 * 0.05 = $0.60 per day.

So your computer costs you $0.60 to run for a day and the seedbox costs you $0.59. Which is more expensive: $0.60 or $0.59? And remember, that doesn't include the cost of replacing your computer when components stops working properly because it's been running 24/7.

A seedbox will reduce you uploading bandwidth usage. And add a layer of security by making it more difficult for others to easily see what you're doing.

Some peeps feel using a seedbox is selfish as it makes life difficult for those who can't. But you can adjust your seedbox so it doesn't cause problems for others. You can easily limit the seeding speed and configure the box to automatically stop/delete the torrent once you've reach 1:1 ratio.

Because seedboxes come with a generous about of disc space, you're able to leave torrents seeding for as long as it takes to reach 1:1 ratio. So not only are you being a nice person by seeding for a long time, you're also collecting seeding bonus.

                Agreeing with @halcin

I moved all downloads to a seedbox but run 3 media servers in 3 different countries. So all new media gets downloaded at one torrent friendly ISP. And everything gets backed up and mirrored to the 3 media servers. That way, I get transfers at local speeds while maintaining my ratio.

I set my torrents to finish when I hit 2:1 ratio. Paired with cheap cloud storage. I usually get a seedbox with cores, connection and ram and forgo storage (500gb is a good enough buffer)

Always happy to help out people who need seedboxes set up for free. Just message me. Not an affiliate or anything.

Could you write up a thing explaining how to do this for other members that we can post on the site?

Essentially I have set up a server in France which is my main downloading box.

I sync the files to File Stream and the different folders go to different media servers.
Each server keeps a copy of the most recent files for 7 days after which they are unsynced to save local storage while keeping a copy online in the cloud for easy retrieval if I ever need it. 1GBPS home connections so streaming 4K content isn't much of an issue.

Plex for general media and just a porn folder for GT related downloads (has anyone figured out a good media server manager for porn?)
