Gay books by gay authors
-
Looking for gay books, written by gay male authors, preferrably fantasy/sci-fi/mystery.
Call me chauvinist, but I'm sick of books, whole point of which is fantasising about being male, having penis and being on top because of that.
So, actually, books by females are fine too, as long as they have something more than written above.Sorry for mistakes, English isn't native.

Here's a Goodreads list.
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/5173.M_M_Books_Written_By_MenI've enjoyed: T.J. Klune, Armistead Maupine, Rick R. Reed, E. M. Forster, Jeff Erno, and Marshall Thornton.

I like Patrick Ness 'more than this" for instance involving a gay twink in strange world ( patrick ness is gay ). or other books by him. they include scifi/supernatural stuffs. ( "release" (coming out story in a way ) " the rest of us just live here") but they are Young adult books ( I read mostly young adults books in english as english is not my language and it's easier).

This is a great collection!yep indeed, I read a lot from this list but the original poster wanted something related to mystery/fantasy/scifi.
I might add Adam Silvera which I loved " more happy than not" or " they both die at the end". both are not very happy books but include scifi elements. I liked also " we are the ants" by Shaun david hutchinson , involving scifi . both Silvera and Hutchinson are gay and books are about gay characters and scifi elements. -
The Sidekicks by Will Kostakis (a gay author) seems to have a gay male character?

I just finished reading "The Last Sun" by K.D. Edwards which is an AU Urban Fantasy. I highly recommend it.
I also enjoyed Jordan Castillo Price's PsyCop novels.

For gay mystery/detective/p.i. books you might consider Mark Richard Zubro, Joseph Hansen, Robert Innes, Gyles Brandreth, Frank W. Butterfield, Greg Herren, Richard Stevenson, R.D. Zimmerman, Dorien Grey, Josh Lanyon, Anthony Bidulka, Neil S. Plakcy, Lev Raphael, James Buchanan, Victor J. Banis, Orland Outland, Mark McNease, and Michael Nava. Duncan Andrews combines mystery and sci-fi in his books. Christopher Rice is a good author in the sci-fi/paranormal genre. One female writer that I felt was good in the gay detective genre is Charlie Cochrane.

I always like to mention a book called Jalendu by Mark Andrew. It is very long but worth it. It has a realistic gay coming of age and love story but also is historical/political fiction set in 16th century India. More importantly at has a philosophy or spirituality (though not religious) that changed me a lot personally.
You can get it from GT

I second More Than This. Patrick Ness is gay and that really shows in his work. Unfortunately I've found his output to get worse and worse, the last book I read of his was totally awful.

Josh Lanyon is a straight woman.
