Consider this about Facebook vs GTRU

If you responded YES, why should anybody be OK with Facebook doing it?
Facebook DOES require real names posted now.. which is absurd.
If your name is something like John Smith, James Johnson, or Jose Lopez… nobody would be able to find you even if you wanted them to.
If your name is something like Wilmer Grubner, Jebediah Croiden, or Margana Turdefit.. everybody would know that is YOU and nobody else. The image thing puzzles me. Many people have no pictures, or pictures of cartoons or other people, they they mostly ignore them.. unless reported.. then they ask for photo ID, and if they don't match exactly, they disable your account. Facebook is the ONLY social networking utility that demands real names.

I know some fake facebook accounts..

I don't see what the problem is. There are plenty of other social networking sites. Go use one of them.

How many GTRU accounts do you have anyway? I'm guessing Spam17 is also you. Spam17 never says anything other than a few words which basically amount to nothing and yet he has a very high reputation. Strange isn't it?

I have never used Facebook and Never will.
Its a personal choice, and everyone has their own views. I join sites / groups or social networks where I have an interest in a particular subject matter. I would also rather talk to friends on the telephone as opposed to texting …
I have the latest smart phone, tablet and PC, I rip out what I hate that Microsoft installs by default (or the vendors), delete as many apps as I can and I use technology for what I enjoy. You dont have to go along with the crowd, just because ... its 'trendy' or the 'in thing'.
And yes it does drive some of my friends nuts that I refuse to use Facebook ...
If you want to setup your own social network its a relatively simple task. Learn Linux and how to configure a web server, rent a dedicated server or a decent VPS, buy a script and install it. You would also want to know a bit about PHP but then again search engines can give you most answers as you go along.

I have explained this before, but maybe you missed it. I will give you the short version.
An extremely horrific murder was committed. I posted comments about it. My comments were so accurate that hundreds of people decided that I was the murderer. The more I denied it, the more they were convinced. I don't even live in the country that the murder took place, nor have I ever been to that country. The actual murderer got my contact information from the media, and started taunting me. The person accused and later convicted of the crime was framed. The murderer thought I was this man who fled the country. The murderer confessed to me on facebook with details that only the murderer could possibly know. The murderer continued to message me even after the accused man was apprehended. I later discovered the true identity of the man who was messaging me.. however by that time, that man committed suicide. The confession is contained in my Facebook account - which has been disabled. Ain't that a bitch? I will stick my neck out and get the man who was framed out of prison, but so far, I have not had the time, or money to do that. It will require me dragging my ass to another country which speaks a language that I don't speak.
Let me conclude with one thing. I have 100%, irrefutable proof that the murder was committed by at least 2 people. I have shown my proof to over 20 people who HATE the man who was convicted, and everyone of them admitted that my evidence proves that there are at least 2 killers. I even contacted the defense attorney for the falsely convicted man. I managed to get his cell phone number. When I contacted him, he acted as if he was very interested, but was in his car at the time and would call me back the next day. He never called back. His own lawyer is a fraud who was hired by the government. The murder had ties to the government of that country and also to China. -
This thread is in the wrong forum. This has nothing to do with politics.

I can confirm that they are 2 different people.

The name of the group is politics AND debate.
Besides.. Facebook's Mark Fuckaturd is working on a presidential bid.
We know that absolutely anybody can become president.. just take a look at Jimmy Carter, Dubbya Bush, and Ayatollah Barack Hussein Obama. We can't risk Marky from even considering a serious run for the white house. -
I think this is indeed worthy of debate and it is in a sense political. It is a wide ranging discussion topic.
I will say that it is important to be objective and while I personally cannot stand Facebook, I can see certain advantages depending
on your social outlook, personality and even career aspirations or political gain. Some individuals find physical social interactions a challenge, therefore Facebook is an ideal platform for them.
Facebook can reunite friends or even distant relatives.
It can be used to quickly disperse alerts or appeals to the public for information. On the downside:
It is used by criminals and terrorists.
It can and is used to disperse 'fake news'
People get drunk and post about their boss and end up fired.
People post not drunk but stupidly about their boss and end up fired. To be honest we could go on and on posting the positives and negatives, if anyone is concerned about Facebook the answer is simple, do not join. I do not like it, I feel with data mining and ever increasing technological advances, the platform will not be used for the greater good and that is a whole new debate entirely.

I think Facebook will fall flat on its face once one big story emerges about it being a data mining operation.
Facebook is like an inflating balloon, that will eventually burst. -
Facebook only like free speech, when it's speech they agree with.
I mean, an algorithm to bury anti Hillary news. FFS.
You can see ISIS beheading people on FB, but they ban for wrong think.

In the past, a huge deal was made in elections about "equal time". Media outlets were forced to give candidates equal time. If they did an interview with one candidate.. they had to do it with another also. When a celebrity such as Reagan, Arnold Swarznegger, Sonny Bono, Fred Grandy, or Sonny Bono was running for something, their tv shows and movies could not be broadcast. The premise of that is to make things fair. Contrast that with almost all the mainstream media and all the late night clowns attacking Trump and the country just to get some ratings. Even Fox news does this. A few days ago, the media were set up like vultures in Boston not for any news story.. but in ANTICIPATION that a riot would break out.

Arrest this man, he talks in maths

Facebook is the king of data mining, there is no question about it, and they can run tests on their 'users' similar to those of rats in a laboratory.
The fact is that each user is a potential consumer to them, and with enormous membership, the data they are collecting is mind blowing. They can data mine keywords and I am fairly certain they have a model for creating predictions of future events. I have no doubt they will make profits as they continue to develop. Each like, each share, it all gives them more data and leads to the development of more sophisticated methods of data mining.
Regardless of their so called 'good intentions' such as sharing data with academic researchers, I am skeptical, they are after all a publicly traded company and that means their investors demand a return.
The biggest fear is .. and this is a reality, is them adapting to actually influence their users for political gain. I would not be surprised if they have conducted such tests under the guise of bettering social science. That would be unacceptable and make the recent cyber attack accusations trivial. If they get caught doing this, it should be made criminal and the leaders held accountable. Even if they do it for financial gain, there is a difference between commercial activities and misleading their users for monetary gain, it would be dishonest on a massive scale. I am sure I could word this better, but I think the point is there.

I think the scariest part is that almost nobody is AWARE of what Facebook is doing.
During the Obama regime, the NSA grew tremendously. Their storage of personal information was growing exponentially. They had entire giant warehouses filled with hard drives storing every message, conversation, video, etc. made not only of other countries - which is creepy - but of the USA itself - which is ILLEGAL. Obama fully supported this. It was like his own candy store of information. BUT.. then the backlash came.. and Obama did a backflip (as if he had a choice) and the NSA got it's balls cut off. Guess who took their place? In many regards.. FACEBOOK.
I have one example.. Facebook demands cell phone numbers. How is it that I don't give my cell phone numbers to ANYBODY.. yet I get 10 telemarketers per day calling my cell phone.. and asking for the fake names I use on Facebook? I get postal mail from marketers addressed to my fake Facebook names. Hmm? -
I see where you are coming from Frederick.
In a political sense, it means Facebook own the candy store now, the burning question is will they share it with the NSA?
It creates immunity for the NSA as they don't actually hold the data and there is zero cost involved. (for the NSA).
If something goes really bad, the politicians and security services can blame Facebook.
Now if I were to take a hypothetical guess, how likely would it be that Facebook chose to sell search time for security agencies either on a per incident or hourly basis? They could even develop a security app specifically for authorized security agencies with automatic billing. We the public and taxpayers of course would pick up the bill
The only way around these possible scenarios is that congress (or similar in other countries) creates and passes a bill that stipulates access to such data FREE and with 100% cooperation when it is in the nations interest to requesting agencies. The bill would also need to deal with fairness and competition in terms of commercial data mining for financial or political gain.
But on a way more serious note, lets say ISIS sell a few million barrels of oil on the black market and then buy Facebook mining data with their proceeds. This mining data gives them detailed information on density of population, and busiest times of the day or week. The same data may include average gathered population and even largest gathered population as well as events and forecasts. This makes your ISIS terrorist much more dangerous and much more aware.

Derailment!!! :cool2:
During the Obama regime, the NSA grew tremendously.
Obama completely lied to voters. He promised to end all the GWB spying on US citizens. He expanded it far beyond what GWB envisioned, according to an interview with GWB after Obama's 2nd election.

Back on topic, most mainstream social media actively promotes leftist speech, while hiding/banning righties speech.
Patreon banned Lauren Southern with no appeal. Patreon took the money in her account and gave it to Antifa groups. When it came out, Patreon made some extremely pathetic excuses/justifications.
