Need Advice on Seedbox Services (or other options)
-
Hi,
I'm trying to work out some options that'll allow me to start sharing my content with the community and build my ratio. Trying to seed from my home connection only gets me so far so I'm open to suggestions on affordable seedbox services that you guys might recommend? I've been doing my research into different providers, plans, prices and reviews of the packages. Trouble is that reviews online aren't always unbiased and I don't have a lot of extra cash right now… in other words, I'm looking for something that I can pull the trigger on and not get buyers remorse soon after.
I have a LOT of content available so disk space could be challenging. I'm probably looking at a minimum of 2TB just to get started... I can rotate content out based on download interest I guess... My home internet connection is 300 / 30 via Cox cable and the upload has generally been hitting at least 30Mbps so getting my content to a seedbox won't be too painful... I just can't actively seed too much from home since VPN is a must and Cox appears to have started throttling encrypted VPN traffic in my area. I get nearly full speed for a while but I've noticed throttling begins after ~10GB of steady uploading... they seem to be working on a curve where the speeds steadily drop until my upload activity stops for a while. If I stop all upload activity for an hour or so then my upload speeds are back to normal until throttling kicks in again and brings it down. They claim that they don't have any systems in place to do this but I've been an engineer for a long time and have done my diligence... my testing gets consistent results of the same behavior regardless of what VPN service I use (I have several active provider accounts and a few private). They can't inspect the traffic so I'm guessing they auto-assume that this kind of upload activity, even encrypted, is highly indicative of file sharing or home server hosting which they also ban in their terms of service... but, I digress...
Ok, so back on topic... any suggestions on affordable options to use for seeding my collection with the community that actually work and are reliable? I understand that you get what you pay for so i'm not expecting anything crazy... just looking for some solid options that you guys either currently use or have used and that you'd recommend.
Thanks in advance for anyone's help!
…If this is in the wrong section I apologize... I think this is my first post here ever... I promise, I did read the forum rules lol...

indeed yes so called " unlimited " traffic is actually not unlimited most of the time if you take the time to carefully read all the contract. Like mine is optical fiber unlimited 500down 200 up BUT if you dig into the 10 pages of contract you find that it's limited in upload to 1To/month though advertised as "unlimited"…
suggestion: 1/at home a tiny NAS with vpn/bittorrent included (synology , Qnap ).
2/Not at home: big bandwidth and very cheap : https://console.online.net/en/order/server you can create virtual server on physical server, location in paris or amsterdam. no engagement. of course you need to know how to setup a server. though it's quite easy. some have ESXi pre installed, you just have to install a regular windows on top of it ( your own windows licence) and done or you can not virtualize and use one of the many linux distro already premalde for their servers. I think they also have a distribution specially made for seeding. and of course you can format/ reinstall with a click from your panel in a click. when it says ' victom of own sucess" it's usually back in stock in few days.
you can pick a huge 2.5Go bandtwith speed and 1To disk for around 10/month or storage : 8 To disk for 40/month

Seedboxes are by far the best… They'll completely avoid your ISP's throttle.
If your ISP is throttling because of their policies on P2P traffic, there is a way to avoid that. A VPN such as PrivateVPN is a good way to bypass ISP throttling when it's detected to be P2P traffic. This will also keep your internet secure from prying eyes and help to keep you anonymous on the internet in general.
The other thing I thought I'd mention is that I see that not many of the torrents in your profile have many seeders, and virtually no leechers. To help build these torrents up, I will freeleech the ones that I see that are in the most desperate need for 156 hours. This will encourage people to download them, which will help to give you upload traffic if you begin seeding these torrents again.
