Most people only view the newest posts on a torrent site.

When a DMCA request is made, that post is removed…
If the movie was any good, it is sure to be uploaded again.. and again.. and again..
Not intentionally, but by accident.  If someone has that good movie, and they find that
it is not on the site.. they will upload it.

Consider if the DMCA request was never made.  Then, that movie would fade away into
the depths of the site, and very few people would see it since it is no longer new.  People
who have the movie who tried to upload it could not, because it would already exist, and
      duplicates are not allowed.

So, effectively, these DMCA requests are actually causing those movies to be "Bumped" up
into the new posts so that they are seen by the people looking at the new posts.
The DMCA takedowns often have the opposite effect of that the people reporting them are
      after.

Quite often, I find I am downloading movies that are several years old.  Of course they were
posted before, but I would never have found them if they were not posted again now.  The reason
they are posted again now is that they are not on the site - because they were removed in the past.
