This happened to me and I feel that they have gone into the closet. I don't know how to pull them out!

My mom used to give me this super stern mom look whenever I would come out to someone.

Just last year at my great nephew's christening, she was going around to everyone saying
"He's gay. There's nothing wrong with it".

She's went from one extreme to the other. She's basically the Catherine Tate Belfast mom now.

When I came out to my mom, she said "I'll love you no matter what, but never tell anyone in the family", so that was harsh.

In fact, the only time I ever mentioned a cute boy in front of her, she was pissed. I feel like she's ok with me being gay, as long as I don't remind her of that fact.

No, but my aunt did something like this to my cousin. When he came out to her she claimed to have no son for about 6 months. After that he was "allowed to be gay" if no one in the family ever found out. Which in return gave him the stupid idea to blackmail me, telling me he will turn the entire family against me if anyone ever found out. What he didn't know: I already came out to my family years ago and everybody had already come to terms with it. The funny/sad twist: Everybody knew since he was a teenager that he might be homosexual and was fine with it. In the end everybody cut ties with them because of the way the tried to pitch everyone against each other. Now they can be alone and miserable together 😕

When I came out to my sister, she was, well we suspected as much. Hell, everyone around me guessed the truth except for me. It took me much longer 🙂

This is the worst part of it all…when everybody already knows or at least suspects something and you spent so much time in your head brooding over it. This is good family/friend time wasted so come out rather sooner than later if the coast seems clear.
