Travel Ban 2.0
-
So, here's attempt #2 of the travel ban to "prevent terrorism" from countries that are not typically the countries where anti US terrorists come to America from.

It's funny how people forget about all the work intelligence agencies do to PREVENT terrorism. There has been terrorism charges brought against dozens of individuals from the affected countries.
Furthermore, it's a temporary ban and refugee processing takes a long time regardless.
The reasoning for the ban is very clear, these countries are state sponsors of terrorism and do not provide background data on their citizens, either because they barely have a central government or have one that does not want to co-operate with the Americans (Iran).
You can buy a fake Syrian passport in the black market for a few hundred Euros. This is a MAJOR security issue.
Glad they re-worked the EO to specifically exempt people who have valid visas from a ban; to allow for border security agencies to have enough time to adapt to the new rules; and to not penalize the many Iraqis and Kurds who assist the US government in anti-terrorism efforts.
Trump is also co-ordinating with other Middle East nations a programme to set up safe zones in the Middle East for displaced refugees.
-
Its also funny that the masterminds and most of the perpetuators of 9/11 were Saudi, but Saudi Arabia is not included in the ban.

ISIS is printing fake Syrian passports, not Saudi passports.
Saudi Arabia has a functional and stable government that has control over their population and complies with US requests for background data on their citizens. Not to mention it's a strategic military ally – Americans and Saudis are working together to set up safe zones within Syria.

Uh… Do you think that applies only to Syria?
I don't have a problem with a Travel ban, but if the US is going to do a Travel Ban, do it right.
The reason that executive order exists has nothing to do with keeping America safe…
Did you forget that Trump vowed to ban Muslims from entering the country?
The bullet points of the Muslim ban attempt #2 sound legal this time, but it is what it is... I'm sure it's going to get challenged again.

I don't recall ISIS invading Saudi territory and taking over their registries and passport offices.
Even al-Assad supports this ban.

What would you do differently?
The reason that executive order exists has nothing to do with keeping America safe…
What would it be?
Did you forget that Trump vowed to ban Muslims from entering the country?
But he's not banning Muslims.
What kind of "Muslim ban" leaves out 90% of Muslims in the world and potentially affects 3-4 million Christians?

Democrats cannot admit their opposition is doing things right, so they will try to challenge it based on lies – and fail.
FBI is investigating 300 refugees for links to ISIS -- not vetted properly.

I never really had a problem with the ban. My biggest issue was the way it was done. It was just thrown together hastily and TSA was suddenly expected to comply on a moments notice. I see why so many of his businesses have gone bankrupt and he had to resort to selling steaks at a store that sells personal massagers and book lights.

You're making it sound like fake passports are something that is limited to Syria.
Oh boy. Who cares what Assad has to say …
What would you do differently?
Uh, it should apply to all of the countries that have terrorists …

Note: That the index does indicate where the attackers originated from, either way, there's definitely a few missing. About a dozen.
But he's not banning Muslims.

He said it was a Muslim ban before… How is attempt two that much different?

I'm not a Democrat, I just think Donald is a joke.
"We Need Clean Water" -Donald Trump
Then he wants to kill the clean water rule…
I could go on for hours … He's a pathological liar and anybody who voted for him should be angry that they got lied to.
But nope, the Trump fans just keep cheering for him as he hands the government over to corporations.

Terrorist access to passport offices is just an example of how the war created deficiencies within the Syrian government. Obviously, people can buy fake passports from any country, but the fact terrorist organizations are under partial or total control of some governments is the bigger issue here.

Most countries will inform US authorities if someone has a criminal record, been convicted or under investigation for terrorism. Sometimes they don't even allow their own citizens to fly out if that's the case. The countries affected by the ban do not provide that kind of information.
He said it was a Muslim ban before… How is attempt two that much different?
I think the context of his previous statements was very obvious, but regardless, he rejected that it was a Muslim ban.
More importantly, the countries affected (based on a list compiled by the Obama administration), the people potentially affected (including 4 million Christians, Zoroastrians, Jews, Yazidis, etc) and the reasoning behind it prove that it's not a Muslim ban.
I could go on for hours … He's a pathological liar and anybody who voted for him should be angry that they got lied to.
His voters seem to be very happy with his performance.
There's a lot of leftie outrage but most Americans agree with this policy.

I have to agree with you, the first executive order was poorly executed.
