Would you vote for her?
-
If I'm an American, yes.
If someone like Trump can become a POTUS, then obviously she has a chance. Heck, she'd make a far better candidate by a mile. -
She's got my vote.
-
DUH!
-
Are you guys serious? No, Oprah should most definitely not be president and I would never vote for her. If Democrats even think of boosting her up, I'd happily sit it out even if it meant helping #45 get reelected. That would be continuing the horrible track we're currently on. Why would you want to vote for another super rich person knowing they'd most likely be super corrupt? Democrats need someone who would be able to speak to the problems of everyone and who will be at least a little less biased than someone like Oprah. Nope, she needs to keep her butt in entertainment where she belongs. Plus, she gives off this weird anti-man vibe that has always rubbed me the wrong way.

Don't operate under the assumption that everyone who is rich is corrupt. That is like assuming everyone who is poor is a criminal. There are lots of rich people, like Bill Gates and Elon Musk, who I consider trustworthy. Oprah is ideologically liberal, and obviously a brilliant person who knows to hire a staff of experts instead of pretending she knows everything like the current moron in charge.
I don't get why you think she is "Anti-man". I don't recall her ever saying anything like that. Her show is aimed at a female audience, but that does not make it anti-man. As I'm sure you know it is quite likely she is a lesbian, but that also does not make her anti-man.

Oprah is deluded, racist and has built a cult of herself up in the minds of lemmings and herself. We don't need to continue the trend of electing celebrities with this mindset.

Would you please enlighten me on this?

Except she isn't running for president. It was a throwaway statement and has already been confirmed as such from an associate.
And if I was an American, I wouldn't vote for her. Equating a celebrity's front-facing personality with their abilitiy to be a capable president/head of state is just an unintelligent assumption.

It's a mute issue because as you said, she's not going to run. But I would vote for her, because she's somebody I can trust. Politicians haven't done the most stellar job either, and I will take a celebrity like Oprah over the entire Republican party at this point which still have anti-gay agendas within their platform. Until they correct that, they have lost all credibility to me as politicians who care about their gay citizens which is a form of incompetence in my mind. It's so basic to treat your own citizens with civil dignities and protections, and if you can't do that, then why would a celebrity like Oprah possibly be worse? She's built her brand off of empathy and appealing to a wide range of social groups, so that alone is incredibly compelling let alone her facing off against weak, unethical competition.

Oprah has on several occasions tried to stir up racial tension where there was none. She once cost a woman her job after assuming the woman was racist for trying to save her money. The whole cult mentality should speak for itself. The caricature of her on Mad TV was not that far off.
-
I think the reason why people throw these statements out there is just to see how people react. I think the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Democrats will now have to approach her and try to make this happen.
That jack ass Curt Schilling also throws his name out there about running for Senate every once in a while. He gets the support of the red caps but in reality they likely aren't going to actually go out and vote.
-
Oprah is not a racist, that is ridiculous and is clearly an irrational claim. However, she does have a cult following and it's creepy. Everything she does has group-think written all over it and that's a quicker route towards fascism than anything #45 could ever do. I'm glad she's actually not running and I hope she continues to hold that position because she'd only help Agent Orange get a second term, and we don't need that. Democrats can win if they stay on the facts, and right now the number one fact is Republicans are going to take away health coverage for millions of Americans if they repeal ACA.

I don't think Trump has a chance against Oprah. Oprah can get women to vote for her. Hillary couldn't. Oprah can also get pretty much every minority group.
-
She would never get my vote nor would she get the vote of anyone I know. Her episodes became so redundant over time, and it got to the point where the only times I watched her show was to see a musician I listened to or to see an interview with an author I liked at the time. Most of her episodes were so one-sided, too. I agreed with her on a few episodes where she'd show white supremacists foam at the mouth, but she never got to the point of why those hillbillies were often like that in the first place. Their hatred didn't just pop up out of nowhere, it was taught to them from childhood to adulthood and passed on so they could never relate to lower class people of color; therefore, keeping a real uprising from happening to disrupt the classism in our society. She never really went deep into that; which led me to believe it was all just for ratings which is sad. And she seemed anti-man to me because there was always this unsaid "men caused every single problem in history" aura around her and that was followed up with a "only women can be compassionate enough to fix problems" mentality. I'm not the only gay black man who feels this way. Why do you think she rarely had gay black men on her show or why no gay black men really hang around her? I'd actively campaign against Oprah if she were a candidate.

I'm not sure where you are from; but here in the United States most people-even black women are tired of Oprah. Even my friends that are bisexual and gay and black told me how they would not vote for Oprah if she runs for President.

No brainer…. Oprah > Trump

I wonder would Kanye be better than Oprah?

She struggled to run a network television, but she'd probably be a better POTUS than Trump. Short answer: I hope we have better candidates in 2020.
