A little awkward for me..

Hey guys. I'm gonna be honest. I'm 32 years old but I'm still a single virgin. I want a nice boyfriend (a buff guys or a jock). Problem is I don't know where to start. I've applied for dating sites but I get passed over. I'm looking for an long relationship with mr. right eventually. I'm old fashioned. I need some advice. How did you meet your lover or partner? Is there any advice you can give me? Im not in a rush to loose my virginity by any means, but I'm not getting any younger. lol

It's good that you tried the online sites- keep doing that and maybe change up your profile a bit if it's not working.
But my best advice, and what's worked for me is the good old fashioned getting out there. Live your life, pursue your hobbies, attend events and parties and try to mingle. Let friends know that you're open to meeting anyone they think might be a good match for you. The people I've gotten into relationships with are people I met at conventions and events, and through mutual friends.
It really helps if you've got some sort of shared hobbies or interests. Good luck!

I'm 26 and I've never had a boyfriend. So I wish I could give you better experience. I don't care for online dating myself especially since I live in the most popular city in my country.
If online dating doesn't seem to work for you, or you don't like it for whatever reason,
then you have one of two options. You can go bar and club hopping at gay friendly places, and approach guys or let guys approach you;
or you just leave it up to god and maybe when you least expect it, you might meet a guy.
I would also not have your standards high like that. You dream guy might not be buff or a jock, but he will still love you.

Be persistent. Be confident. Get involved in your community. Volunteer for things that interest you, and you'll meet people with similar interests and maybe find mr right, or even mr right now.
Be clear and honest about what you're looking for and be open to meeting someone who maybe doesn't check off every box on your wish list.
Most importantly, don't be discouraged if it takes awhile or if you have a lot of dating disasters. You can learn a lot about what you want and don't want from those nightmare dates.

I hate to be blunt, but if you're looking online for "buff guys or jocks", then you better be a buff guy or jock yourself. If you go to the gym every day, take care of your body, and snap some hot pics, trust me it'll be easy to attract attention from online dating sites or apps. Clearly you're not, which means there is something wrong with your body. If you're looking on a meat market like an online dating website, you should expect to have a good body or at least an attractive one.
With that said, you don't have to go online or browse through the dating apps to find someone. There are traditional ways to meet other guys, by expanding your circle of friends and having them refer good guys your way.

well just be yourself and try to smile and get to know others. If not via dating apps, try facebook etc.I find facebook better than dating apps!

Agreed with what brianboru72, Domosuke, and jb420 said…
Partially agree wth pols1337 too. If you're looking for buff guys/jocks, you'll get higher (remember, not absolute) chance of meeting one by being one. It didn't work for me when I used to be a gymrat tho. Ahahaha... although I have been approached by many guys who were not my type.
Which brings me to my advice, one that resonates with Domosuke's. Always remember, that setting up a high standard also comes with a cost. Personal experience.

If I'm getting it right…you're BOTH single and a virgin.
Alright...
So! You want a buffed up boyfriend? I agree with pols1337's advice. If you're looking for a jock, be one yourself (or at least somewhat athletic) by working out, you will go to places where that kind of dudes are and can strike a friendship with someone and expand your circle of friends, allowing to develop more 'organic' relationships
Most comments have pitched you the idea of going out more and get involved in the community...try it!
Now...your virginity...that's easy: find a another horndog and fuck it away.
What? Too blunt?...Sheesh....
To be honest, virginity is overrated, just look at what mess it causes to the heterosexuals...unless you are the 'old fashioned' way and want to lose your virginity with that perfect boyfriend you want to have. That's fine...but then go out into the world and live! Don't lay in your bed, watching netflix unloved and unfucked! What are you waiting for?!

36 (wow, time's passing by quickly) and i fell in love twice only to find myself with two black holes where my heart used to be.
What's the point of saying this? That there's worse. Keep trying though. -
Firstly, Are you more interested in a 'Fit body" or a "fit guy for a relationship"?
Looks change but usually the person doesn't.
I was 34 when I finally found a guy that I could ssay "I love You" and meant it.
We meet online, this was way before all the apps and smartphones.
We talked everyday about life and things that made us laugh, cry, and think.
He was in another country. After six months of talking I put away my fears, he was 17 years younger than me, and booked a flight and came to visit him (notice I said came, as I am still in that country but not with him, though we are still great friends).
Do you like yourself? This is where it needs to start; whether your fit, fat, ugly( to yourself), mentally or physically challenged, life is possible but you have to believe and stop trying to force it. Take a chance to talk to guys, without the thought of "he's my type", or "I could fall for this one". If you don;t talk to guys then How can you find out what's beneath the surface? Surfaces don't last.
I feel that with all the technology that people are forgetting how to talk face-to-face with friends and friends of friends (this is where you can find him).
Good luck and stop stressing -
I would also not have your standards high like that. You dream guy might not be buff or a jock, but he will still love you.
Couldn't agree more.
Everyone would love to date a hot, chiseled, sexy guy, but sometimes, that only happens in the movies (or porn).
For me, I love rugby guys, but the guys I date have been skinny, chubby, tall, short… Expand your horizons and you may have more luck.Let us know how you get on
