        From your link

        'Carrie Fisher's fame as an actress rested on just one role, but it was a role in one of the best known and most successful film franchises in cinema history"

        And this is so true

              The 2 main reasons for this is;

              1. She was manic depressive (old name for it) aka bi-polar.  It made concentrating on doing the job very hard for her.  This lead her to take illegal drugs; mainly cocaine.  She would do cocaine to bring her up and booze to bring her down.

              2. She got type-cast as Princess Leia.  This is a curse for actors who perform an iconic role, especially at an early age/beginning of their career.

                This is one of the saddest news I've read lately… I liked her so much  :cry2:

                  May she rest in peace, and May the Force always be with her.

                      Indeed.  We say our most sincere goodbyes to the most important female figure in Star Wars history.  She might have been Leia in the movies, but forever she will also be the Leia in the comics, the Leia in the novelizations and the Leia in our hearts.

                        All the deaths this year-the bitter dissolution of our childhoods- our past slowly slipping away, and a stark reminder of our own inevitable mortality waiting a heartbeat away.

                        RIP Carrie Fisher.

                        Tell someone you love them today, because life is short.
                        But shout it at them in German, because life is also terrifying and confusing.
