What kind of music are you looking for? These aren't torrent sites but I find alot of music I like at these sites:

        hxxp://www.4shared.com
On this site you can download a single song or an entire cd.

        hxxp://www.filestube.com
This is an excellent search engine not only for music but for porn and other items of interest.  It searches sites suchas hotfile, rapidshare, megaupload, depositfiles, mediafire and many more.  The only downside is if you don't have premium accounts to the sites it searches you normally have to wait 30-90 seconds to download your files. But hey it's free!

This is the torrent site I use for downloading music and movies.  Great site that I've never had any problems with, and completely free to use  ;D

            hxxp://isohunt.com/lite/

A mega-search engine that shows combined seeders (including thepiratebay).
Everything under the sun:  music, porn, appz, etc.

This one is like isohunt but alot of time I can get different results that other tracker search engines.

btw: no need to make your disabled live link xx red.  We usually do that just to demonstrated to a member that they posted a live link. :rotfl:

it would be nice if you could get an invite to a private one though, much like this site works with share ratios etc 😕

torrentday has started adding a good bit of music, but I think it is a private site that you have to invited to.

YouTube? You'd have to download songs individually, but hey, YT pretty much has everything.
Use http://www.flvto.com/ to download as mp3

if you like metal then the best one is
                                en.metal-tracker.com

they have everything, and its easy to sign up, works a lot similar to this site actually

what.cd and waffles.fm seem to be the big private music tracker powerhouses these days… I think both are probably either directly descended from or modeled after oink. I'd recommend trying to find an invite to these.

rutracker is another option. It has no ratio requirements and open registrations, and there's a surprising amount of music, including discographies, of some rather obscure things available there. There are often individual albums in FLAC, too.

Of course, the challenge with using rutracker is navigating the site if you don't know how to read Cyrillic text at all, but browsers do an adequate job handling automatic translations now, so it's pretty easy.

PS: Everyone says P2P is obsolete, but programs like soulseek are still pretty essential for a lot of obscure things that even private trackers and sites like rutracker don't cover. In fact, a lot of low bitrate MP3's you can find on private trackers have come from soulseek. It's great for finding music of the most obscure and random sort along with everything else if you can't find something on a tracker, though stuff shared on soulseek frequently comes in the form of abysmally low bitrate MP3's and grotty vinyl rips.

Use piratebay, arguably the best site for that

Not to be a dick, but Pirate Bay and similar trackers like Kickass Torrents are about the crummiest options available. The only upside is that everyone and their grandma knows about them, so they stays relatively active, and a lot of mainstream/big name releases end up on them. Private trackers, and even Soulseek, are way better in terms of variety, though. TPB is a last resort for basically everything (music, films, GAY PORN, etc.) if you don't have any other options.

I think what TPB does best is software cracks, but even that is covered sufficiently by other private trackers, and you're far less likely to get (or even have to worry about getting) malware and virus-infected cracks/installers on a private tracker, because private trackers have, like, standards and pride and a sense of duty and stuff…
