Best Torrent program
-
any recommendations, i seem to be getting a lot of adverts with mine.
-
maybe a low version of utorrent. (v 2.2.1)
if you have a android device Ttorrent is the best.
-
I think you won't go far wrong with gaynight's suggestion.
I use uTorrent v3.0 and stopped there after I read of problems with the subsequent upgrades then the intrusive stuff included.
It's also a good idea to check that the torrent sites you use don't ban some versions. I use one site (rarely) where I have to start up an earlier version of uTorrent because they don't allow 3.0
PS I should have mentioned that I have had no problems using uTorrent to create a torrent, upload or download torrents

Hands down - qBittorent…

I used utorrent. My computer first slow down then hang and window don't work anymore. Have to install new windows

I agree, certainly the best torrent client for Macs. Even on an old Mac Mini it runs great, and has a really good interface
-
I dumped utorrent years ago
I've been using qbittorrent for a while and am quite happy with it.
It's a lot like utorrent so easy to configure.
Been testing out deluge lately. Can't say much wrong with it but i'll see in time if I like it -
Am I the only one who turns of the ads in the new uTorrent versions?

If you choose Transmission and download it from its website, be sure to check its hashes. Because it has been reported several times that malware detected in Transmission downloaded from its official website (hacker attacked their server and replaced it with an infected version).
You can get hashes with commandshasum -a 256 Transmission-*.dmg
and compare it with the correct one on the official download page. -

Transmission on Mac…hands down best...and simple.
-
I personally use Tixati. It's colourful, which I like. Only available for windows and linux, though.

I'm on Windows and I used first uTorrent (latest) and then qbittorrrent… Now I'm going back to uTorrent.
Why?
I'm usually seeding 100-200 torrents, and I've noticed that qbittorrent is not good with uploads.
I had plenty much more uploading with utorrent, therefore also quota on tracker sites
With qbittorrent I had lost several hundreds of GB of download capacity
I see that there are peers and I have seed but qbit puts only so little amount of torrents to the upload stream at given time.
Also qbit has - well much features - but utorrent has a lot more features, which is important

Yep. It's great.
Only if you're on a Unix based platform

The code is pretty portable, and the QT-based UI should work on Windows too.

https://github.com/transmission/transmission/issues/82They are not actually distributing binaries for Windows mainly because the devs do not want to handle it. :blownose:
No one's gonna blame them 4 that anyway xD In fact you can use cmake to generate a Visual Studio Project pretty easily …
